Mireille Nightingale was born on a storm-heavy night in Isla Paradiso, when the ocean was restless and the moon hid behind dark clouds. By morning the storm had passed, but something about Mireille had always felt tied to the sea.
Growing up on the islands, she spent most of her days in the water—diving through coral reefs, swimming farther than anyone else dared, feeling strangely at home beneath the waves. The pale patterns across her skin, a rare blue-toned vitiligo, had always set her apart. Doctors had their explanations, but the older islanders whispered something different.
They called her ocean-marked.
For years Mireille ignored the stories, believing the marks were simply part of who she was. But as she grew older, she began noticing something strange. During full moons, when the tide rises and the ocean glows silver under the night sky, the pale patches across her skin begin to shift.
A faint, shimmering blue like moonlight reflecting off deep water.
By morning the color fades, as if nothing ever happened. Yet with every full moon, the ocean feels closer, quieter, more familiar.
The elders say the sea chooses its own.
And lately, Mireille Nightingale has begun to wonder if the ocean chose her long before she ever learned to swim. ♡
Mireille is my new OC after Addison, and I’m really excited to start her story in Isla Paradiso. I hope you’ll love her as much as I already do! ♡♡
