AMERICAN ARCADIA
the truman show is my favorite movie, and a lot of my enjoyment of this game came from it having a very similar premise. the literal switching of perspectives (3rd and 1st) was a fun way to vary the gameplay, though it got a bit stale by the end; the dialogue too started getting tiring about two-thirds of the way through. also, there was a surprising amount of small technical bugs? like, flags for voicelines would overlap or just not deactivate, there was a significant amount of subtitle errors - grammatical and spelling-wise. still, none of that took away from the experience, and i appreciate how this game handled both its main narrative and its political themes.
SMILE FOR ME
turns out i can beat a game the same day i start it! its very easy to do so when its such a charming experience, just wanted to keep playing tbh
THE ROOM 4: OLD SINS
At last, the tetralogy is complete! Really enjoyed the pseudo-nonlinearity of the dollhouse as a kind of hub world of puzzle rooms, but as with 1 and 2, there's one visually stunning path forward. Personally I think The Room 3 is the best, but all four hold a special place in my heart, especially since the first game was one of the earliest mobile games I ever played.
