Chapter 18

Kambria 

- 10:05 pm -

As I lit the last row of candles. I couldn’t help but smile to myself. Yeah honestly I didn’t know the first thing about thing about being romantic or sexy. I’m sure this looked corny as hell but it didn’t matter because Chris was gonna get the point. All the weeks we’ve been getting to know each other and the kiss we shared. I was determined to make tonight special. The whole living room looked like something out a movie and I was proud. My phone rang out as a iMessage notification popped up. A huge ass grin appeared on my face. A couple of notifications continued to pop up. I unlocked my screen and scrunched my face a little.

Keeis

Hey Kambria. Have you heard from Keisha ?

I rolled my eyes and quickly typed backed to him. I didn’t really know how he got my number. Let alone the balls to actually text me. I couldn’t stand his ass. 

Nah, I haven’t. You okay ?

Yeah. I’m just messed up on some shit and I just need to know how I can make shit right with her.

Well I hope everything goes well with that.

This is mad random but do you think I can stop by? I know you don’t live that far from her. I need some female advice.

Honestly I have plans and you should be fine though. I’m sure she’ll text you back.

I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t know your Keish’s best friend. I really like her Kambria. I need help getting back into her good graces. 

I rolled my eyes a couple of times before giving in to this crazy request. Even though Keisha and I aren’t on the best terms. I know she really cares about Keeis. I eventually sent the address so I could help him out. As I waited in the process. I opened the hidden bottle of Henny that I was saving for Chris and I. I took a couple of swigs before scrunching my face. That Hennessy was no damn joke. I could already feel the liquor filling my veins from the big swig I swallowed. I swallowed a few more swigs before re-hiding the bottle.

I was beyond turnt. I almost finished the Henny bottle. My nerves were getting the best of me. Keeis was taking too damn long to stop by and I didn’t need him stopping by while Chris showed up. The doorbell sounded and I was trying to get my ass up but failing miserably. The doorbell sounded again, “I’m coming Dammit!”. I finally stood up and slipped on my Nike Slides on and slouched to the door. My eyes stayed squinted and my balance was all fucked up. I unlocked the door as I reached it. Opening it but it looked like Chris instead of Keeis. “What you doing here?” I slurred barely keeping my balance. “You told me to come through remember” He said as I nodded. “My bad Chris. I’m just stressed about Keisha and I’s argument” I whined as I threw myself on him. “Uh..what happen with y’all?” He asked as I looked up at him but not quiet seeing Chris’ face. My vision was getting so blurry. I couldn’t fully make out his facial features. 

“I’ll tell you when you come in” I said as my head was spinning and my vision was becoming blurry as hell. The door closed and we walked back into the living room. “Damn ma you went all out” He said as I blushed as he looked around the room. “Well I just wanted to-to do something nice for you” I said as we both plopped down on the couch. “So anyways what should I do about Keisha?” He asked and just the mention of her name had me feeling salty as hell. “Why are you bringing her name up when you came to see me?” I pouted crossing my arms over my chest. “My bad ma but that’s the reason why I’m here. Remember?” He asked as I scrunched my face. “Really Chris? Why the fuck have we been talking if you’re just trying to get at my friend?” I asked slurring even more. “Alright Chill Kambria my bad” He said as I scooted closer to him. “That sounds better” I said as I laid my head on his chest. 

“Well since I’m here. What’s good?” “Well I’ve been thinking about you a lot and I had the opportunity to have the house to myself so here you are” I said getting up and climbing into his lap. “Mmm you’re right” He said biting his lip and griping my ass tight. “You know I like you a lot and I’m kinda ready to take this to the next level” I said reaching for my sports bra and pulling it over my head. As my breasts were exposed to him. He didn’t hesitate to grab both of them kissing and licking them. I softly moaned as he continued to swirl his tongue around my hard nipples. I never would have figured that I would get this far with Chris. Just dancing up on him at the party turned me on and created scenarios in my head of what it would be like to be underneath his beautiful sculpted body. 

I could feel him growing underneath me and his bulge was hard and strong. As he was sucking on my nipples. I moaned out and grind against him. “Damn your tits are big as hell ma” He whispered in my ear which made my face turn hella red. “Come here” I said while I could barely open my damn eyes to see what the hell I was doing. “Damn” He mumbled as I stood up but soon met the floor falling on the pillows. “You okay Kambria?” He asked. “I’m o-o-kay” I stuttered. Just closing my eyes for a while, I could feel him hovering over me, kissing all over me.

”Mmm, don’t stop” I moaned out closing my eyes tight. “Hey Kam. Don’t tell Keisha about this okay?” He said which confused me to who really was on top of me.

Chris

It was going on 11:30 pm. I kinda told Kambria that I would stop by and kick it with her. I hope she wouldn’t be too mad that I was taking my time to head over there. Something inside of me was telling me not to go over there. Lately I was feeling more convicted of playing Kade. I cared about her more than I cared about most things. I rubbed my eyes and stood up slowly, grabbing my car keys and wallet. A light knock sounded on my door, “Come in”. Mama’s face appear. “Hey baby you heading out?”. “Yeah ma. I was gonna meet up with Ty to record something” I said not telling the truth all the way. “Okay baby. I hope all of your assignments are done and you’ll be ready for practice tomorrow” She said smiling and motioning me to come in for a hug. 

I smirked and walked to her to pull her into a big bear hug. “Thanks mama. Everything is taken care of and I won’t be gone long” I said as she hugged tighter. “Okay baby just be safe” Mama said releasing me and smiling up at me. I nodded and followed her out my room while closing the door in the process.  I know Mama worries about me but I’m good. Everything was starting to make sense about a lot. Maybe it was too late to go after Kade but I had to repair our friendship or whatever was left of it.

As I was pulling up to Kambria’s house. It looked like no one was home or she already went to bed. All the lights off in the house was looking black as hell. No lights were on and I mean not one. I parked the car and turned it off. “Man this chick better be here” I mumbled to myself. I pulled out my phone to shoot her a text. If this was a bust mission I’m gonna be hot man. Her phone just rang until it reached the voicemail. “Shit!” I spat re-dialing her again. I waited but the same thing happened. I don’t have time for this bullshit. I opened the door and got out. I know she’s home because her car is out in the driveway. I closed the door and walked up the driveway. Something just felt off about this shit. Finally reaching the door. I lightly knocked on the door and stepped back. Something inside was telling me not to trust her but she can’t be that bad right ? Do I just listen to my gut instincts?  

A few minutes passed and no response. I reached out to grab the door but it swung open. “Chris when did you leave?” She asked me as my face scrunched up in confusion. “Huh?” She grabbed my shirt as she wobbled to stay balanced. “Aye you good Kambria?” I asked she held onto me. “I-I-I’m good” She slurred pulling me into the house. I closed the door behind me. “What’s going on Kambria?” I asked still trying to piece two and two together. “I’m just happy you’re still here Chris. I really like you” She said turning around to face me. I nodded then walked around her into the living room. I scanned the room and noticed candles everywhere. “What the hell was she tryna do?” I mumbled to myself. “Wanna watch a movie?” She asked as she walked in and plopped on the couch. “Nah I’m good. I think I’ll chill for a bit” I said as she scooted closer to me. I don’t know what type of shit she was on but shit was weird. As she was gonna say something my phone started buzzing.

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and saw Ty’s name flash across my screen. I silently thanked God for the distraction and answered it. “Wassup nigga?” I answered getting up and walking away from Kambria. “Where you at?” He asked. “Man nigga you don’t even wanna know. You in the studio?” I asked as I looked back in the direction of the living room. “Yeah come through” He said as I nodded and licked my lips. “For sure I’ll be there in a min bro” I said then hanging up. How was I gonna get out of this one? I sighed and walked back into her living room. Small snores were escaping her mouth as she laid passed out on the couch. I grabbed the nearest blanket and covered her.

Me being here was not a good look. It just feels like I’m in too deep to go back to what felt right which was working on something with Kade. I missed her in every way but pride is a hell of a thing. I couldn’t just admit that shit to her, shit made me feel vulnerable.

Chapter 17

Mallory

I just knew the whole Chris rolling through was gonna end up being a big problem. But like I told Ty that’s his friend and if shit goes down that’s his ass. As Mikey scooted to his computer to play another track. I could see Kade in her head just letting her thoughts run wild. This whole bullshit could of been resolved if Chris would of manned the fuck up. “Can you not look like you ready to fight the nigga” Mikey said as I rolled my eyes even harder. “Mally I’m fine okay” Kade said as I tried not to let the shit bother me. A knock sounded on the door. “It’s open man”. The door opened as Chris opened the door and walked through looking already faded. “Hey Y’all”. “What’s up my nigga” Mikey said greeting Chris all extra friendly. “Hey Mal” Chris said as I nodded and let out a dry ass hello. All I know is he better not even say not a damn thing to Kade.

“So bro I’ve been working on this track and you have to do a hook” Mikey said as I watched Chris get a little antsy. “Oh just let me hear it first” He said as I rolled my eyes knowing Chris wasn’t gonna wanna do not a damn thing since Kade was the one person who motivated him to do music again. I looked over to Kade and she had her face buried in her phone. Usually that’s all I do. “Killa K you all quiet and shit” Ty said making her look up from her phone briefly. “Oh my bad but I think I’m gonna head out. My mom needs me to do an errand and shit” She said looking back down to her phone. “Alright but just listen to this song first” He said as he pressed play and the music started to bump. 

Regular Girl started filling the room and I was immediately calm. I really liked this joint as I looked around the room all of our heads were bumping to the beat. I noticed something pop on Chris’s screen. He tapped into the Snapchat app and he opened a notification up and of course that broad was sending him a bikini picture. I sucked my teeth and looked away with disgust. “Mal walk me out?” “Yeah come on. I’ll be right back babe” I said getting up from my chair and following Kade outside. As we reached outside. I could see Kade’s emotions written all over her face. “I can’t keep torturing myself Mal. I just can’t!” She said as she hugged me and walked back to the house.

What could I do? Chris has his mind set and Kade wasn’t going to change her mind one bit. They were both stubborn as hell. 

Kambria

This whole Kadence shit was more fucked up than I thought but I had to admit that I liked it. Chris was paying me more attention than I thought he would ever. I had to admit that I was liking every moment of it. He was all I thought him to be like. As I smirked to myself as I opened the fridge and pulled out some yogurt and some fruit. I had two days until my dad was expected back home from his business trip so I had a lot to do before that.

I really couldn’t believe that this whole plan of mine was going so well and I had to make sure that I kept up with the happy front until I fully convinced my dad I was okay. It’s not like I’m all the way good and there’s definitely nights I wake up in cold sweats dreaming of my mom dying a painful death. I’ve just learned to keep my mouth shut and keep my dad happy. My phone started to ring with Keisha’s assigned ringtone. Damn I haven’t heard that tone in a min.

“Hello” I answered while tapping the speaker icon. “What’s up stranger” She said as I grabbed my food and phone to head into the living room. “Nothing same ole shit” I responded plopping on the couch. “Funny cause it looks like you been on Chris’ tip” She said as I smirked to myself. Not yet but I was working on literally being on Chris’ tip. “Girl I’ve been doing me. I don’t have time to be worried about that boy” I lied scooping some yogurt into my mouth. “Cut the bullshit Kam. I heard what happened at the kick back. You’re fucked up for that” She snapped. I nastily chuckled to myself, “Are you mad that Chris is showing me attention. You should be worried about Keeis?”. Keisha laughed loudly, “Not at all but I’m glad I’m seeing your true colors though. How the fuck are you gonna disrespect Kadence like that after she’s let us hang with her and she’s been nothing but nice to us? You’re mad fucked up Kambria. I’m now questioning our friendship”. “Don’t worry about what the fuck I’m doing. It’s really not your business at the end of the day. If you don’t want to be friends that’s a win for me” I replied rolling my eyes as if she could see me do it. “Alright bet. Karma is a bitch and don’t worry about me being all in your business” She said ending the call.

I had to laugh at Keisha’s attitude. It’s the fact she didn’t know not a damn thing about what I’m doing with Chris. It’s all innocent on my part still. I just wanted to be the reason he smiled. 

Keisha 

That bitch Kambria has lost her mind all the way. Who the fuck does she think she thinks she is !? I was beyond done with her ass. It’s sad because we’ve been close since freshman year but it’s like I don’t know who the fuck she is anymore. This whole Chris issue that Kambria was creating was gonna become a issue at school and I refuse to have any part in this bullshit. I tossed my phone and walked in my bathroom glancing at my wrist where my forming bruise was lightly showing. All I can do was shake my head. Lately shit with Keeis and I was becoming too physical. I tried not to be that female who fought back but he was getting too hands on and I ain’t with that bullshit. I noticed he wasn’t just doing weed but he always had a little baggie of white powder. So since our little argument that happened the night of the kick back. I’ve been laying low from his crazy ass. I have too much going on at school and with my business. I softly touched my wrist and winched a little. I knew I was gonna have to cover it up so my moms won’t see it and fire on my ass with the questions. I didn’t need her judging me. 

My phone began to ring loudly with the standard ringtone. I hope it wasn’t him. He was the last person who I wanted to talk to. I sluggishly walked back into my bedroom and glanced at my phone. MARQUIS flashed across the screen. What didn’t he understand!? I didn’t want to fuck with him anymore. The call stopped and I sighed, “I need to get out this damn house”. 

Shit I wonder how Kadence is feeling? I’m sure she’s pissed the fuck off. I immediately grabbed my phone unlocking it to find Kadence’s number. As the line started ringing she picked up on the third ring. “Hello” She answered dryly. “Hey Kadence. I was just calling to check on you” I said hoping she wasn’t mad at me too. “Honestly I don’t want to assume you knew anything about it but I don’t know what to think” She said. “To be honest. I haven’t been talking to Kambria and I didn’t even know she like Chris enough to try to talk to him” I said hearing Kadence sighing deeply. “Thank You. I’m kinda happy you’re not involved because besides Mal you’ve been pretty chill and a real friend” She said as her tone lightened up. 

“Girl I know how you feel and the shit’s that’s going on I wouldn’t wish that shit on anyone” I said as I grabbed my laptop turning it on. “Yeah it is what it is” She said sounding down. “I know. I don’t know you enough to be giving advice but I think if you focus on you that he’ll come back to his senses. Kambria is no one to worry about. She’s a little messed up in the head bitch” I said not regretting any of the words I just said. “Thank you Keisha. I feel like doing something you wanna hang out?” She asked as I grinned and nodded. “I’m down. I’ll come to you?” I asked as I hopped up from the bed and walked to my drawer. “Yeah that’s fine” She said more cheerfully. We spoke a little longer before ending the call. 

This night definitely calls for some weed and some real friendship.

Chapter 16

Kadence

I don’t know if I was enraged or just plain hurt. It’s just funny how I wanted to just be good enough to date him but no that’s doing too much for him. So to make things worst. He decides to disrespect me and talk to someone I am newly cool with. He has fucked up on me for the last time. I really wasn’t gonna blow up on him but I just feel so disrespected after all that I’ve done for him and pushed him to do the music thing even though he was hesitant about it. He has me all the way fucked up if he thinks I’m gonna let this shit slid. As I ignored Mal’s call to calm me down. Nothing was gonna get in my way. As I approached Chris and Kambria. I really could see how they were acting like a little couple and it was annoying me by the second. How could they just vibe better than we did. 

I stood in front of Chris mugging the shit out of im till our eyes met up. “Oh shit. Hi Kadence” Kambria said as she stopped dancing on Chris. “So this is new” I stated as sarcasm dripped with every word. “Man its not what you think Kade” Chris said as I cockily scoffed and crossed my arms over my chest. “Because to me it looks like your booed up but do your thang” I nastily responded. “Look Kadence. I know we barely met and we’ve been trying to get to know each other but I didn’t mean for you to find out this way” Kambria said as I shook my head. “Honestly I could care less what you have to say. It’s really between Chris and I” I stated blowing her somewhat half ass apology off. “Man let’s go talk Kade” Chris said as I rolled my eyes and walked away from them. 

As I was weaving my way back to the front door. I saw Ty standing there looking at with a look I couldn’t pick out. I’m not in the mood to discuss what I just witnessed. The whole thing is fucked up and I’m not with that shit. “Kade you okay man?” Ty asked as I kept my composure. “I’m fine. I’m going home” I said pulling my phone out and trying to text Mal. “Kadence hold up man” I heard Chris said but I just kept ignoring him and walked past Ty. “Man just hold on Kade. Damn man” He called after me but I continued to ignore him. As I walked through the front door and down the steps to the driveway. “Kadence c’mon man slow down” Chris called behind me. I really am not interested in hearing what sorry excuse he has to say to me. Whatever it is. As I reached the street where all the cars were parked. I felt my arm being grabbed. “Get off of me!” I yelled snatching my arm out of his grip. “What the fuck is wrong with you!?” He spat as I shook my head as my eyes began to water up. He just didn’t get it and I’m tired of that.

“You happened ! Did you really think it was okay to just start parading some bitch in front of me when you told me you weren't ready to date!?” I yelled as my tears slowly began to spill over. “I’m so over this bullshit Chris. I swear I am yo. I don’t deserve this shit man especially since you call me one of your best friends. You’re not worth my fucking tears! I’m done with you!” I cried as I walked towards the direction to my car. I really pray that he doesn’t even try to come after me. I no longer give a fuck what he does with his life no longer.

Last night was like a blur but it wasn’t. I remember crying and telling him I was done with entirely. Yeah it might seem like I’m over reacting but I lost my virginity to him, shared deep secrets, and started a friendship that I thought would never end. As I rolled over to check my phone it began to ring. I glanced at the screen to see Mal’s name & picture of us showing. “Hello” I said knowing Mal was gonna want to know everything that happened last night. “You okay Best?” She asked as I could hear the somber tone in her voice. “I’m fine. I can’t deal with him and I won’t. I’m done” I said as I unplugged my charger from my phone. “I feel you and I’m here for you girl” She said as I nodded. “Yeah but I’m tripping that Kambria would do some shit like that to me. It’s not like she didn’t know we had a complicated situation. It’s fowl as hell” I said rolling my eyes at the sight of them dancing popping up in my head. In a way it was taunting me to just see them both enjoying their selves together. 

“Girl I know! I feel stupid for even trying to be nice and including her into our hang out space” Mal said as I dismissed the thought too. “Well that’s bitches for you. You give them an inch and they take the whole damn mile. She can deal with Chris’ inconsistency” I said just irritated about the whole situation. “Anyways what are you doing later?” She asked knowing I needed a damn distraction from this drama that seemed to surface in my life. 

“I’m not doing anything. What’s up?” I asked as I heard her side of the line shuffle. “You wanna come over and head over Mikey’s?” She asked knowing I’d probably say yes. “Yeah I’ll meet you there” I said as my phone dinged notifying me a text came in. 

Kambria 

Hey Kadence. I am so sorry. I’m pretty sure you’re not trying to talk to me but can we meet up and talk?

I rolled my eyes without hesitation. She does not need to explain anything to me about what the fuck they do. “KADE!” Mal yelled popping my inner thoughts. “My bad Mal. Kambria just text me” I said salty as hell. “What the hell she want?” Mal asked with attitude in her voice as well. “She supposedly wants to talk about the Chris incident” I said scoffing and rolling my eyes. “She’s wasting my time to be honest” I said. “Well maybe you should see what the hell she’s tryna talk about” Mal insisted but I really don’t have the need to hear her. She doesn’t owe me an explanation. 

Chris

I didn’t even know how to feel about everything. All I could hear what Kadence said. “I’m so over this bullshit Chris! I swear I am yo. I don’t deserve this shit man especially if I’m your so called friend. You’re not worth my fucking tears!” That shit was haunting me all night long. I’ve never thought I’d be the one who hurt Kade. I really care about her but I’m scared of being that guy who fucks her over. I guess I’m on my way to doing that. Everything is fucked up cause I like Kambria and she’s cool as hell but when it comes to Kadence. I hate myself that I’ve messed up our friendship that we’ve built. The fact I made her cry is what’s eating me the most inside. I was still in the bed just analyzing all that’s been happening and honestly I’ve missed my best friend. “Chris!” Mama’s voice yelled from outside my door. 

I hopped up from my bed to open my door and see what this woman wanted. “Ma’am?” I called back to her. “Chris there is a little fast ass girl outside my door asking to see you” She said as I quickly racked my brain to see who the mysterious girl is. “What? That’s weird” I said knowing my Mama wasn’t no fool. “I’m going back to my room and please get rid of her” She said as I nodded and jogged down the stairs.  As I reached downstairs and looked out the window of the door. Kambria was outside waiting. It wasn’t weird that she was here but it was kind of random of her. I opened the door and she looked up.

 “My bad for showing up unannounced but you left your wallet in my car last night” She said handing my wallet over. “Oh shit thanks” I said grabbing it. “So....” She said as the space between us grew awkward. “My bad about last night. Kadence and I go way back and we have a complicated situation” I said shuffling my foot. “It’s okay. I’m the one that should be apologizing” She said as I looked at her funny. “Why is that?” I asked. “Well we were becoming cool and I somewhat knew she had a thing for you” She said as I shook my head. “She’s not my girl though. Yeah we got into it that night at the club but we aren’t anything” I said as the word hit me harder coming out. “Well I guess. Look I like you Chris and I’m not trying to be apart of any drama. So hit me up when you get shit together” She said turning away. And just like that I couldn’t let her walk away completely. It was something about her. “Man wait” I said grabbing her arm softly. “What” She said turning around to face me. I pulled her into me and kissed her on the lips. She pulled away but gave in as our kisses got more relaxed and sloppy. She pulled away and shyly wiped her mouth with a grin. “I like you too Kambria. So what’s up” I said looking deep into her eyes. It was weird though. I could only see Kadence in my mind.

“Well if you’re not doing anything tonight. You should come over and hang out” She said as I nodded. “Alright we’ll I’ll let you know” I said as she smiled and nodded too. “Alright we’ll I’ll see you later Chris” She said with a smirk. I watched as she walked back to her car. She wasn’t no Kadence but I was gonna enjoy getting to know her. Somewhere in my twisted head. I still wanted Kadence even though I wasn’t ready to commit to her. 

It’s fucked up I know. 

Tyga 

The last thing I needed to hear was the drama my best friend has created for our whole group. I loved the kid but he never had it right when it came to the ladies. I’m not an angel either but I know better than to shit where I eat. “Mikey! The girls are here” My mom yelled to me as I paused my thoughts and grabbed the two rolled up blunts I rolled earlier. I knew Kade needed a distraction from the whole Chris situation. “Alright I’m coming!” I yelled back as I slid the two blunts in my basketball shorts pocket. As I reached the stairs I heard my mom and the girls talking. “Aww I hope you feel better baby” Mom said. “Thank You Ms. P” Kadence said softly as she gave my mom a small smile. My nigga really fucked up. Kade usually ain’t this somber and shit. 

I walked into the kitchen to see my mom cooked all this food. “Before your eyes get you in trouble. This food is for a customer and not for you to eat it all up” Mom said as Mal laughed. I looked at Mal and sucked my teeth. After these blunts I was gonna want to fuck some food up. “Alright girls I’ll see you later and make sure this one doesn’t take anything from the kitchen” Mom said as the girls laughed and nodded. “Alright I’m out Mikey” She said as I walked to her and kissed her cheek. “Bye Ma” I said as she walked out the kitchen to the garage door. 

“Alright let’s get to the real business” I said as I reached in my pocket and pulled out the perfectly rolled blunts. “Babe!” Mal said as her eyes grew big. “What?” “How do you even know if Kade wants to smoke” She said rolling her eyes. “Well just because you don’t do it doesn’t mean Kade doesn’t. She’s grown babe” I said as Kade let out a chuckle. “You niggas act like I’m not standing here and Ty I’m down” She said as a grin spread across my lips. “My nigga Killa K” I said walking to her scooping her in a big ass hug. “Eww get off me” She laughed as I started to tickle her. “Awww. I’m happy we’re hanging out and shit” Mal said getting all happy. “Well Kade and I are besties” I said in a feminine tone. “Babe no” Mal said with a straight face that made me lose my shit. “Honestly thank you guys for this” Kade said as I calmed down from my laughing. “You know I got you lil nigga” I said as she smiled. “I’m glad someone does cause your nigga has lost his damn mind” Mal said rolling her eyes. “Bring that shit down” I said to Mal as she rolled her eyes again. 

“We gonna smoke or not?” Kade said as I nodded. “Yeah let’s go to the studio” I said as I walked to the back yard sliding glass door. The girls followed behind me. “Babe you gotta play Kade the new song you just recorded”. I smirked and nodded. “Alright let’s get this shit lit first” I said closing the glass door.

As the music flowed from the speakers. We were all vibing to me rapping on this track I was working on. “Guys” Kade said quiet. “Wassup Killa K?” I responded turning the music down low. “Am I wrong for not wanting to be cool with Chris?” She asked as I tried to figure the question myself. I wasn’t just gonna out my brother like that. Chris was fucked up for what he did but he’s still my boy. “Honestly it might be for the best to do your own thing” I spoke up as both Mal and Kade nodded. “You right Ty. I need to focus on me. Good lookin” Kade said sparking the other blunt. “Ayyy my nigga!” I said laughing as Kade cracked a smile then hit the blunt. The room easily filled up with smoke. “Pass it here!” Mal said getting more goofy than she was already acting. 

As I watched the two goof balls laugh and chock from hitting the blunt. My phone began to buzz in my pocket. I pulled it out and check the caller ID. 

Breezy Calling

“Wassup my nigga” I said as I took the blunt from Mal. “What you doin?” Chris asked as I hit the blunt then letting the smoke out slowly. “Smoking with the girls” I replied then took another hit. “Who?” He asked. “Kadence and Mal” I said as they both looked at me. I could see Mal’s high ass mouthing “Who is it?”. “Oh word? Let me slide through bro” He said as I began shaking my head. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea bro” I said as Kade became tense. “I got some bud. I won’t bother her. I’m just tryna smoke with my friends” He said as I sighed. “Man okay but don’t say I didn’t try to warn you” I said shaking my head. With that I ended the call, “Who was that?”. “It was Chris and he’s stopping by and shit” I said as I rolled my chair to the sound board. “Wait what do you mean?” Mal said as I heard the attitude in her voice. “Wow that’s fucked up Ty” Kade said shaking her head too. “Aye that has nothing to do with me. Y’all clearly heard me tell this nigga it wasn’t a good idea” I said as I felt the back of my head sting. 

“Alright if he starts anymore drama with my best friend it’s YOUR ass Michael” Mal said crossing her arms across her chest tight.

Chapter 14

Mallory

"Kade" I said waiting on her response for the last 10 minutes. "Yeah?" She asked still not looking to me. "Are you fine?" I asked patting her leg. "I'm really not tripping Mal. We're not an item" She said knowing past the pride she felt some type of way. "Like how am I suppose to feel? I'm not gonna keep putting my feelings on the line when he's just gonna keep fucking with my head. I’m good girl" She said as a small tear slowly fell from her eye. "I just wish I never told you" I mumbled as I scooted closer to her. "Me too man" She mumbled back. As we sat in silence. My phone interrupted the foreign silence. 

"Hello?" I answered knowing it was possibly Mikey. "Babe did you tell Kade?" He asked as a cursed myself and biting my lip. "Can we talk about this later?" I asked knowing he was gonna be hot that I slipped up and told Kade. "You told her didn't you!?" He asked as his voice raised. "Don't be getting mad at me and plus this whole thing is hear say" I snapped as I rolled my eyes. "Can I talk to Tyga?" Kade asked. I nodded and handed her my phone. "Hey Ty can you just keep it real with me and let me know what's going on?" She asked as I know Mikey was cursing his self out too for telling me anything. I motioned her to put it on speaker and she did. "Well basically I called Chris yesterday and he said he was chilling with this chick he met recently from the club drama that night" Ty said as Kade nodded her head. "So who is she?" Kade asked as Mikey hesitated. "You’re my best friend too Ty. Just keep it real with me" Kade asked as Mikey sighed. "She goes to school with us but that's all I know. I haven't even seen her" He said. 

"Thanks Ty, I appreciate it" She said then hung up. 

"So what do you wanna do?" I asked because I'm tired of this drama. It's so petty. "I just wanna be over him Mal. That's all I want. I don’t want to keep either or y’all involved" She said as I scooped her into a hug. "I'm just tired of pretending to not be hurt when I see him at school and on top of that I feel for him" She admitted. "Like how?" I asked as she wiped her face and sighed. "Well last summer before we came back for Senior year. He took my virginity. It wasn't a big deal because I knew despite whatever happened between us we'd still be friends. So we continued to have occasional sex in the beginning of first semester" She admitted as I sat there shocked as fuck. I'm not tripping that she didn't tell me. The whole immature situation made sense why she feels how she feels. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you Mal. Everything was happening so fast and it was so unexpected. I thought I could handle him as a sneaky link" She said as sighed and wiped her eyes again. "It's really okay Kade. I just want to figure this shit out" I said as she nodded in agreement. 

"I do too" She said. 

Kambria

Maybe I was stirring the drama pot but Chris is all worth the trouble. He's everything and more what girls around school talked about. He was funny, a smart ass, athletic, and thoughtful. I know I shouldn't be exactly talking to him since Kadence has a thing with him. I'm not exactly doing anything wrong with him but getting to know him. 

As I hopped out the shower. I grabbed a towel for my body and hair. One of the Varsity Basketball players invited me to a kick back tonight. I would be a fool to decline the offer and Chris was possibly gonna be there. The attraction was slowly becoming an obsession. The more I got to know him. I ultimately wanted him to myself. To top it off Dad was out of town and I had the house to myself. I was going to take advantage of the situation. I honestly didn't know what to wear. This new personality I was forming into was unleashing this bitch like character. I bought a few things with my dad's card while he's been away. So this was a good excuse to enjoy my weekend.

As my phone rang. I briefly ignored it as I was looking for my lotion. The ringer stopped but briefly started back up. "Ugh!" I moaned as I walked to my nightstand and grabbed my annoying ass phone. "Hello?" I answered. "Hey baby. How's everything going?" Dad asked as I sighed. "Everything is going good Papi. I bought a few clothes because I didn't have anything new for school" I said as he laughed. "What?" I smiled as I chuckled a little. "I'm just happy that you’re happy baby. It's been awhile and I'm proud of your progress" He said as I was in a sense happy too. "Well thanks. I'm trying" I said as I grabbed some of the shopping bags from the foot of my bed. "Alright I'll let you go baby girl. I'll be back in town on Wednesday night" He said as a devious smirk played on my lips. Stay Scheming was my theme song. That's what I felt was my life in a nutshell. "Okay bye Daddy" I said then hanging up.

For a kickback this shit was active. I carefully pulled my crop top down a little as I was pleased with my simple but pleasant outfit . There was thick weed smoke filling the room up from several corners. I wasn't into the smoking shit like Keisha was. I was probably considered a light weight alcoholic. I was known in my own head to finish a Ciroq bottle in 2 hours by myself. Those were the times when Mama was on mind heavy. 

“Damn ma. You need a drink?” One of the players on Varsity asked as I shrugged and pulled my phone out. “For sure then. I’ll be back” He said walking off. Just as his thirsty ass walked off. Chris’ fine ass walked in from the backyard looking chink as hell. I couldn't help but giggle to myself. He looked even cuter with his faded ass. I waved to him as a smile spread across his lips. “I see you made it shorty”. “Yeah, I told you I’d make an appearance” I said involuntarily twirling my hair around my finger as we shared small talk.  I hate to admit it but I was catching feelings for this nigga and to be honest I wasn't against the whole idea. Our interactions were just natural. 

The guy before came back to us and handed my drink then dapped Chris, “I hope you like it and no I didn't put something foreign in it” He said as Chris laughed shaking his head. “That’s not funny Chris and thanks” I said rolling my eyes playfully at Chris. “No worries ma. Mi Casa is Su Casa” He said proudly smiling. “Gracias” I said smiling half way as the guy walked away. “Anyways did you come by yourself?” He asked as I nodded and stuffing my phone into my pocket. “Really. I thought you would of came with your girls or some shit” He said looking directly at me. “Is that your polite way of saying I’m a loser?” I asked as I smirked back at him. “Not at all shorty” He smartly replied as I was thanking God I was talking to him. 

As the kick back was getting packed the music switched to Migos- Freak No More. “C’mon” Chris said grabbing my hand and pulling me to the dance area.

Chapter 13

Kadence

I’m Over it ! I swear I'm so over Christopher Maurice Brown ! He's so immature on life. I can't deal no longer with this shit so I decided to head to Starbucks before heading all the way home. I don't know what to think of any of this anymore. I let this situation get the best of myself get to me. What are you suppose to do when your falling for your best friend ? Let's be honest he doesn't want me and he’s not ready to take that next step. I'm not his typical light skin type or his type of woman. I rolled my eyes and drove into the Starbucks drive-thru. "Hi welcome to Starbucks! What can I start you with?" The monitor asked as I skimmed the menu list and nodded. 

"Can I please get a Venti Caramel Frapp with extra Caramel and whip cream. Can I also add a chocolate chip cookie warmed up?" I asked as the order was repeated. "Pull to the next window with your price. "Thanks" I said as I drove up and waited behind the car in front of me. Recognize by PartyNextDoor came blasting through my car. "You got niggas and I got bitches. I want you. I want you to turn up on your love" I sung as I bounced in my seat to the beat. My standard ringtone played and buzzed as I turned the music down. 

"Hello?" I asked as the voice came through the speaker. "Hey it's Keisha" She said as I smiled. "What's up girl?" I asked as I pulled up to the window as i tapped the speaker button. "Hello! Your price will be $8.97 please" The cashier said as I handed him a crisp ten dollar bill. "Girl where you are?" She asked laughing. "Starbucks!" I said laughing with her. "Here you are miss with a Venti Caramel Frapp with extra caramel and whip cream and your chocolate cookie" He said handing my items one by one. "Thank you" I said rolling my window and speeding out the drive thru. "So where you headed off to girl?" Keisha asked as I shrugged and sipped on my drink. "Well no where. I just don't wanna head home right away" I said as I pulled up to a stop light. 

"Well if you want to. You can come to my house. I ain't doing shit and you ain't doing shit. We might as well not do shit together" She said as we both laughed. "Alright. Text me the address fool" I said laughing. "Alright girl" She said as I ended the call. A minute later the text popped up with the address. I wasn't gonna look too deep into this. It was weird that I was gonna hang out with Keisha. Don't get me wrong she's super down to earth but I never really hung out with anyone else but Mal and the group at school. My efforts to distant myself from Chris and our affiliates had to be done. He wasn't gonna just disappear. I had to honestly learn how to cope and change my perspective.

"So how you feeling?" She asked as I tried to pull the blankest face I could manage. "I'm fine it's just being in your feelings causes too much drama" I said honestly. "I feel it girl. I’ve been there and done that" She said as I made myself comfy in one of her bean bags. "So how long you been smoking?" I asked because her room smelled of some fragrance. "Long enough to know not to keep the evidence in my house unless I'm gonna smoke with friends or what not" Keisha responded as she text rapidly on her phone. 

"About smoking. Do you think we can light one?" I asked knowing I shouldn't but I needed him off my mind. "Of course. I wanted to ask but I'm not the one to assume" She said as a smile slid on my face. "It's all good. You’re hella chill Keisha. Thanks for calling me in the first place. I appreciate it so much" I said as she nodded and pulled out a box. 

"They don't call me Pussy Kush for nothing. I'll roll us up the good shit girl" She matter-o-factually said. I laughed and watched her intensely start the process.

Chris

Practice literally took the life out of me. Coach wasn't playing any type of games. I slowly dragged my feet in my Jordan flip flops as I exited the locker room. I wonder what Kade is doing. I miss her but us being both stubborn we won't bend anytime soon. That truth alone has me thinking about her a lot more than often. "Aye Breezy you tryna roll to Dee's house?" One of my teammates asked as I remembered I said I meet up with Kambria after practice. "Nah man. I'll catch y'all later though" I said as I pulled my phone out. 

Kambria 

I hope you didn't forget about us meeting up. 

I laughed and slid my phone back into my basketball shorts pocket. Damn I'm not tryna bail on Kambria but I don't want to piss Kade off either. Kade ain't fucking with me though. So why the fuck should I care what she thinks. As I walked out the school building she was standing there looking all types of fine. Her style is none that I've ever seen so that made me content that we were gonna hangout.

"You gonna stand there all day or what?" She laughed as I smiled and walked up to her. "The short ones always have shit to say" I joked as she pushed me and pouted. "I'm just saying!" I said laughing as she smiled and play rolled her eyes. "So let's go already. I'm hungry man" She whined as I laughed and walked to my car. "Lead the way then shorty" I said as she flipped me off and got in her car. I finally opened my car door as I watched Kambria start her car and reverse. 

I don't want to go out on a limb and say that this girl was gonna be the reason why I get Kade off my mind but it was looking like that. Somethings are meant to happen and feelings are meant to be suppressed to protect your heart.

"So what's your story shorty? Why haven't I seen you around campus?" I asked as she scooped a big amount of ice cream into her mouth. She just shrug and continued to scoop ice cream into her mouth. "For real blood" I said making her laugh. "Honestly I don't know. All those years of being unnoticed I just kept to myself" She said as I nodded and tried to steal one of her toppings. "But honestly. I was pissed at life so I wasn't in a place to make friends or whatever" She said looking away. 

Kambria was something else. She said whatever she felt and didn't hold back. I think that's what really has my attention about her. "So what about you Mr. Popular" She said laughing and stuffing her face. "There's really nothing to tell. Feel me?" I said as I shoved ice cream in my mouth trying to ignore the fact that I wasn't trying to expose myself in any type of way. "Oh Hell No! If I have to so do you" She said with some attitude. I sighed. "Basically I'm not popular I just involve myself in activities and social life". "If you say so Mr. Popular" She smartly said with a smirk on her face. "Don't call me that shit man" I said smiling as she smiled too. 

My phone began buzzing on the table briefly interrupting us. She continued to eat her ice cream. "Wassup" I said answering the phone and getting up. "Bruh what you doing?" Ty asked as I looked over to Kambria then back ahead. "I'm just chilling with a friend" I said stuffing my free hand in my sweat pockets. "Nigga you ain't got no friends besides Kade, Mal, and me" Ty said as I shook my head and cracked a smile. "Nigga I'm allowed to have more than one friend. But we still on for later on?" I asked not trying to keep Kambria waiting too long. "Yeah I'm down. So who you with?" Ty's nosey ass asked. "A female. That's all you need to know" I said as this nigga howled on the other end. "You wild Ty but I'll hit you later man" I said as I hung up. 

I walked back in and slid my phone back into my pocket. "My bad about that" I said as she smiled. "I'm not tripping. No worries" She said smiling again. This girl is something else. "Well I got to head home anyways. I have so much homework that it's annoying" She said play rolling her eyes. "Damn you tryna make excuses already?" I joked as she rolled her pretty green eyes and smiled. "I'm kidding but I'll talk to you later" I said as we both stood up. "Yeah for sure" Kambria said smiling as we walked to the exit and I held the door open for her. "Thanks again Chris" She blushed as her smile widened and her cheeks turned red. 

"Alright then bye" I said turning to my car. 

I had to see her again.

Chapter 12

Chris

Kambria was not only cute but she was cool to talk to. “So you’re telling me your about to be 16!?” I asked with more interest in her because her maturity was attractive. “Well I’m gonna be 17 in a month fool!” She said laughing and brushing her curly hair out the way. “Okay okay I see you youngin” I smirked as she rolled her pretty green eyes. “So what’s up between you and Kade?” She asked looking right at me as I looked away. “Nothing she’s my best friend but we’re not on the same page at the moment so she’s pissed” I honestly answered as she nodded and smiled. “So basically yo ass caught feelings and shit is weird?” She boldly asked as I chuckled and rubbed the back of my neck.

I guess you could say that. “Something of that nature but it’s deeper than that” I said as she opened her mouth to say something but closed it quickly. “I feel you” she said nodding and checking her phone. “Damn it’s going on 1am and my pops is about to trip” She said getting up & dusting off her outfit. “I can walk you back inside” I offered. She nodded and stood up. I watched her every move. She's fun size short. I loved that about my type of women. "Oh by the way it was nice to talk to you Chris" She smiled up at me and then turning around. 

The way she was walking back with her little switch. It kinda got to me. "My nigga where you been?" Ty's nosey ass asked as Kambria walked away. "I was out here freeing my mind and just talking" I said as he nodded. "You good here?" I asked fighting the feeling to yawn. "Yeah. Mal is all irritated with what happened so they're leaving and shit" Ty complained shaking his head. "That's your girl man" I laughed as I followed him inside.

"CHRIS!" I heard my mom's loud voice as I rolled my eyes and cursed to myself. "Yes mama?" I yelled back as I got up and opened my already cracked door. "Boy get your ass up. You been sleeping for hours. You have practice son" She yelled as my eyes bugged out. "Shit! Shit!" I spat as I tried looking around my junky ass room looking for my practice duffle bag. "Next time you come home drunk or whatever you better stay your butt at Michael's house. I don't like that and your duffle is downstairs. Get the move on hunny" She said as I turned to see her standing there. "Thanks mama" I smiled with a goofy smile and proceeded to get ready for practice.

"Thanks again mama" I said as I pecked her cheek. "Okay baby see you later" She said rubbing my back then turning away. I closed my door and quickly ran into the bathroom to start the hygiene process. I couldn't help but feel good about today. Though last night was petty as hell. I was in the wrong. If Kadence wanted space. I was going to give her as much as she wanted. I quickly washed my body and ran my hands through my hair as the warm water splashed my face. 

I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my waist and started singing this line from Ty and I's song we co-wrote.

No lie that shit sounded good. I was working hard on this project Ty and I started awhile ago. I know I always denied that I loved music but I was finally accepting the fact that this singing shit was my true gift. Even if it was inherited from my absent ass father. 

My message alert went off and the only person who text me around this time was Kadence and I know she currently isn't fucking with me. I kissed my teeth and strolled into my room. Why did she have to be stubborn too? It always made shit complicated for our friendship. Honestly I was gonna apologize to her today and try to smooth out everything between us. I grabbed my phone and unlocked the code to be surprised to see her face again.

"Christopher! Are you getting ready for practice son !? You might want to leave now to be on time!" Mama yelled as I nodded. I pulled the towel off and picked up some fresh boxers from the bed.  My phone buzzed again as Kambria text me back. 

It's a long asss story but I'll see you at practice I guess but if you’re not doing anything after you wanna get FroYo ?

I grabbed my phone and keys. For the first time in a while it was cool to just cool to talk to a girl without her wanting shit from me. I know Kadence had my back and all but I wasn't ready to be in a relationship just yet. All my priorities were out of wack. 

She just needed to understand that in the best way but why couldn’t I express that to her fully. 

Mallory

Last night was a waste of time. I could of stayed my ass home with the family. Although last night was a bust. Kade is my girl and I support her but Chris' yellow ass isn't gonna change for no women. He's my friend but it's the simple truth and I can't see Kade get hurt. I'm even compromising my insecurities to be with Mikey but I just know I trust him with my feelings. He’s worth the risk.

As usual I was on my iPad reading, discovering, and laughing at the latest celebrity foolery. "Damn Mal ! You’re already on your iPad this early?" Kade's grumpy ass groaned as she sat up in my bed and rubbed her eyes. "Good Morning sunshine" I chuckled as she rolled her eyes. "Can you stop being so annoying with that attitude?" I snapped as she laid back on the headboard. I know she was still in her feeling tough about the Chris incident. "Like K I know you don't want to hear shit about what happened but I'm your best friend/sister and it's my job to tell you what's up and shit" I said setting my pad down. 

"It's fucked up the whole situation which I don't really know what happened but you need to keep it pushing babe" I said patting her leg. "I know but I'm just so fucked up about it man. I think I actually love the boy" She said as her eyes grew glossy and watery. "Kade man up best. You’re a beautiful young woman and plus when we get to college you'll be crying over how there's too many fine ass men to choose from!" I said making her smile and giggle. 

"You’re a damn fool Mally but I love you to the moon" Kade said grabbing me into a hug. "Love you too babe" I said as we released each other. "So what are up to again?" Kade asking as I looked up from the pad. "Extra early Christmas shopping" I said then looking back to my pad. 

"Ugh! Mallory you’re obsessed with that shit" Kade groaned making me laughing. "Fine okay I'll put it away! Can't do nothing with Mikey and you breathing down my damn back" I pouted as my phone went off. All I heard is Kade's obnoxious laugh as I checked the caller ID.

"Hola Papi" I said practically laughing as Kade did the same. "Y’all niggas are lame!" Kade laughed as I flipped her off. "What y’all doing over there?" He asked as we calmed down. "Nothing just chilling. Whatcha up to babe?" I asked as I laid next to Kade. "Shit I'm just waking up but you tryna come over and work on some music?" He asked as this was his way of asking if I wanted to spend some time with him. "Sure Mikey. We can hangout" I said laughing. "You niggas I repeat are simp as hell" Kade said laughing. 

"Is that Kadence over there being a hating ass nigga?" Mikey asked as I fell into a fit of giggles. "Shut up babe. You know she's deprived" I teased as Kade rolled her eyes hard and flipped me off with both fingers. "Well I'll call you when I'm on my way" I said as we said our goodbyes. 

"Ugh you do need dick in your life Kade" I said as she rolled her eyes.

I kept smoothing my jeans down Damn ! I should of ironed my jeans like my mom said. A sigh left from me as I approached the door. I wasn't expecting to have lunch with Ms. Nguyen. I swallowed and rung the doorbell. The door slowly opened and I was face to face with Mikey's mom. "Hi Ms. Nguyen" I spoke up as she shared a warm smile. "Hey Mallory. Ty can't stop talking about you. I'm glad he suggested this idea" She said as my cheeks bruised. "Aww He did. I'm happy too" I smiled back at her as I held my hand out but she instantly pulled me into a hug. I thanked Baby Jesus that our first meeting was going well but all the years I've been Mikey's friend I've never met his mom and I was beyond grateful for this moment. "Maaa!" Mikey yelled as he walked down the stairs. 

"What Michael!?" She yelled back as I walked in and she closed the door. "Oh my bad. Hey Mal" He said flashing me his bright smile. "Hey Mikey" I laughed as his mom shook her head smiling. "What ma?" Mikey asked blushing. "Nothing son. Go hang out with your girl. I'm gonna make all of us food" She said heading into the kitchen. As soon as his mom went into the kitchen. Mikey pulled me into the biggest hug and pecked my lips. The smirk I currently held was priceless besides seeing Mikey at the club last night I missed him in other ways. He released our embrace and looked in my eyes. "What's on your mind?". "Honestly I'm feening for it" I whispered looking down at my boots. He lifted my chin up to meet his face. 

"If you want it baby. Come and get it" He lowly said licking his lips as we made contact.

I couldn't pass up on the offer. I just had to have him.

Chapter 11 Part 2

Kadence

My peaceful chilled demeanor changed as soon as I saw his light skinned ass making his way towards our section. "Oh lord" Mal said shaking her head as she buried herself in her phone. "What's wrong Kade?" Kambria asked confused on what was going to go down. "You’re about to see" Mal said as he approached me. "Hey. Can I talk to you?" He slurred a little bit but focusing on me. The petty side of me was uprooting her head and was waiting to come to life. "Oh so now you wanna talk Christopher. Nah I think I'm good" I said rolling my eyes. Deep inside he was getting mad and I was gonna enjoy every moment of it. If I'm such a good friend as he claims. Why treat me like I'm a basic bitch you don't know. "Stop being petty Kade. I need to talk to you" He said clenching his jaw. A smirk spread across my lips and the thought of just him getting angrier at the minute made me feel better that his punk ass played me earlier. "You have a second to get up" He said clenching his jaw harder as he waited for me to give in. 

"Just talk to him Kade please" Ty said as I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest mugging a fuming Chris. "Fine you have 5 minutes" I said with every intention of attitude. "Get up" He said. "Don't talk to me like you’re running shit. Calm all the way down Christopher" I snapped standing up as I walked to the directions of one of the exits. I could feel his presence on me strong. There's nothing he could really say to me to make me feel better. Honestly this was petty of both of us but being the Taurus he is. He wasn't gonna admit shit directly. He's too stubborn. 

As the cold night air hit my face. I walked to a quiet corner and turned to face him. He just stood there pissed off with his jaw tightly clenched. "I'm dead ass serious Chris you have 5 mins to say what you have to say since you’re in the mood to talk" I said as I tightly crossed my arms over my chest. "Why are you acting like this? I have to talk to you and you’re acting like this" He slurred as I shook my head in disgust. "Really!? You know why I feel the way I do? You wanna be friends please let's be friends then!" I said shaking my head as I tried my best not to show any emotion or let myself cry over him once again. "That's how you feel Kadence!? What happened to back at my house?" He asked as I looked away to push back the tears that were threatening to fall. 

"You made a decision when you decided that you didn't want to talk about it. I can only respect that and move along with my life" I said as I was seconds from crying.

 I couldn't take seeing my friendship crumble in front of my face. I'm not strong enough for that especially when I’m in love with Him. 

Kambria

There was too much unnecessary drama going on especially when we're out tryna have a good time. I really didn't know the situation nor do I understand what's going on. All I know is Kadence is pissed and how am I suppose to comfort someone who I told myself I didn’t like. "Ugh I'll get her" I heard Mal say as she followed after a pressed Kadence. Everyone else who came with us was doing their own things but I happened to noticed that Chris never came back in. 

Without even thinking I was walking towards the outside and spotted Chris in the corner chilling. This usually isn't me to even take initiative to talk to anyone that wasn't worth my time but I felt different about Chris. I let another big sigh out of before approaching him. 

"Uh.. Hey you straight?" I asked as his head slowly came up as our eyes met. He cleared his throat before opening his mouth. "Yeah, I'm good". "I just thought I make sure. As seeing none of your friends weren't coming to see about you" I said crossing my arms. He nodded. "Nah it's cool. I'm good thanks for asking though". I nodded and prepared to curse myself for embarrassing myself. I turned around and started to slowly walk back inside. "Wait! What's your name?" He asked as I silently thanked God. I turned back around and smirked, "I'm Kambria".

"I'm Chris, nice to meet you" He said smiling for the first time since he was here.
