Movie night. I guess this late night tradition lives on long after our family stopped checking for Santa.🎄 Mmm. This whole A Soldier's Story cast looks so young ...and chocolatey 😍 A Soldier's Story was released in 1984. The film stars #HowardERollinsJr as Captain Davenport, #AdolphCaesar as Sergeant Waters and #ArtEvans as Private Wilkie, also featuring a baby-faced #DenzelWashington, #RobertTownsend, #WilliamAllenYoung, #DavidAllenGrier & other recognizable faces. Most of the film's actors were New York thespians on and off-Broadway. The original off-Broadway Negro Ensemble Company Inc production of A Soldier's Story by #CharlesFuller, opened at the Lucille Lortel Theater info New York City on November 20, 1981, ran until January 2, 1983, and won a Pulitzer Prize in drama in 1982. The movie's source stage production, A Soldier's Play, was inspired by, and loosely based on #HermanMelville's novella Billy Budd (1962). #ASoldiersStory was produced for $6,000,000. The story was set in #Tyin #Louisiana but filmed in #Arkansas. The Fort Worth, Louisiana #Army camp was portrayed by The real life Fort Chaffee Arkansas Army camp, which was as old federal army camp -Camp Chaffee- that dates back to WWII. The film's exterior sequences were shot in three days in #ClarendonAR. All of the buildings in the picture, were actual dwellings, as the movie's limits budget did not allow for the construction of any sets. The #ArkansasArmyNationalGuard was used for the marching parade sequence. The music score was interpretative impromptu music by #HerbieHandcock & other musicians. #PattiLaBelle and guitarist #LarryRiley wrote and performed their own songs for the film. The film was nominated in #1985 for #AcademyAwards in #BestPicture, Caesar for #BestSupportingActor and #BestWritingAdaptedScreenplay

Tyin is an energetic R Nay who hails from AV World. His mother Maru was one of the First Generation Nays, so he constantly feels under pressure to do well. Since his mother was killed by her friends, he is always very cautious of who he trusts, though he is not always the best at keeping secrets.
