On today’s episode of Kai being awesome... A very rough and tumble translation (corrections welcome): Uchihara, Mito, Ibaraki is my hometown. I'd like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims of Typhoon 19. After seeing video footage of the damage caused by the typhoon, I thought there must be something I could do, so I went to Mito City to volunteer. I went to the area where the entire first floor of storefronts and houses had been submerged due to flooding, making it impossible to live in. Valuable heirlooms were simply washed away; it made my heart ache to see it. On this day, at the home where volunteer help was requested, I helped collect things that had washed into the field across the way. Even with four people, the work was difficult, and I think if a single person were to attempt it, it would break their spirit. The state of disaster continues, and there are areas where more help is needed (especially on weekdays). Even if it's only a little bit, I'd like to ask everyone for their help. There is volunteering information in an announcement on my website. And, for people who aren't able to volunteer, I'm working together with my staff to figure out another way to help. We will let you know once we've decided on something.
