despite the fact that we all knew exactly how and where babies came from, my sisters and i just didn't feel that was cool enough for us, and since they were all born in places other than hospitals it was really easy to come up with stories like
sister 1 hatched from a fruit that fell from a tree and hit our mom on the head
sister 2 was caught in a river while riding a fish and is still pissed the fish got eaten
sister 3 floated down from a cloud accompanied by beautiful shafts of sunlight and ominous sounds of thunder
but i was the only one born in a hospital, so they couldn't pretend i hadn't come the usual way.
they were determined though. and it was decided that sure i was born normally, but i wasn't normal at birth- i had a pair of wings which the doctors thought were weird growths and trimmed off
(my sisters assured me this hadn't hurt. it'd been like trimming a finger nail) (my finger nails were long and strong and arched back then, so much so that they never broke and I HATED getting them trimmed because it DID hurt)
now the funny thing is, i actually did have something weird as a baby: Furry Ears.
they were furry to the point that mom couldn't leave me alone with the sisters for more than 2 minutes before they were using honey to slick up and style my ear fur into spikes and tufts and stuff. Everyone (except for mom and the honey jar) was very dejected when the fur started falling off
all this to beg the question-
the heck wasn't my story just me being a werewolf?? the hook was RIGHT THERE.
wings. c'mon. my whole life i've been scared of heights and they give me wings... older sisters are the worst. i bet all that stupid honey smothered my lovely ear fur, too.
robbed by my own family. unbelievable
