Do humans have the same gene mutation that causes brown/chocolate/liver/etc in so many animals? is that what makes hair brown with black colored hair being default? if not, how would it effect someone do you think?
General human hair color is too polygenic for statements like that, however yes, there are several identified TYRP1 mutations in humans: most cause type III oculocutaneous albinism, but melanesian blond is also here.
