1 or 7 for the wip ask :3
(I don't know anything about blue lock but you have intrigued me with your posts)
ty for the ask red !!! (game here <3)
wip #1 - in which i ruin hiori's life (blue lock)
i've talked about it before but the concept behind this fic is that after hiori overhears his parents arguing and falls from the stairs, he injures his foot badly and permanently, killing his soccer career. it's an exploration of having to live with that, what it means for his character to inherently never be able to fulfill his parents' expectations of him, and of course learning to let go of all that and live for himself.
karasu is here too! hiori hangs around after school to watch him practice
“Yer goal today was much cleaner than usual,” Yo said. “Less touches on the ball.”
“Half my teammates are stumblin’ over their passes like we’re still mediocre kids. If they can’t clean up we have no chance of winning the match this weekend.”
“Even if ya think so, you picked the weakest player to steal from.”
“Duh. Why would I steal from the strongest?”
Yo shook his head. “I mean, ya say so many are mediocre, but ya always pick whoever’s doin’ the worst that day. It’s like you zero right in on ‘em.”
Karasu huffed a breath and looked away. “Guess I do.”
“It’s a real talent, Karasu. Yer like a sniper.”
“Ya sure got a lot to say for someone who doesn’t even like soccer.” Karasu’s voice was even, intentionally neutral– not accusatory.
“Yeah, well,” Yo said, deflating. “Jus’ wanna see you win this weekend.” He’d already evaded five years of Karasu’s not-so-discreet prodding, and they’d gotten along just fine. Surely he’d tell the story when the time was right. It was just never right.
They finished the walk home in silence.
wip #7 - survival battle with my babies (beyblade + genshin impact)
oh my god i havent worked on this in forever it's the most self indulgent thing in the world it's literally just me shoving bennett and freminet into the beyblade survival battle. freminet is there on behalf of the dark nebula in case yu isn't able to win (as yu is a fresh recruit) and bennett is there because he accidentally wandered onto the plane like madoka.
With all the mishaps and miseries in his life, entering a tournament by accident shouldn’t have surprised Bennett. No matter how he retraced the events of this morning, he couldn’t figure out which wrong turn landed him on a plane packed full of high level bladers headed to an island off the coast of Japan. And yet, here he was: anxiously traipsing through the foliage where the Survival Battle was taking place.
At least he’d managed to make a friend on the flight; Yu’s infectious excitement for the upcoming battles eased his embarrassment at his situation.
“Now that you’re here,” he’d told Bennett, “might as well have fun!”
Fun. He could do that. If Bennett was good at anything, it was making the best of a bad situation.
