Please I really want to understand all the branching versions of the Mirrorverse kpdh au and i feel like I have Seen several different versions and I just cannot keep track of all the different reblog paths. Is there any way to compile a list of each “storyline” and put them all together? I don’t really know how tumblr works
So, this is almost definitely not everything, because holy fuck has this AU grown everywhere (I love you all!!!), but an attempt was made
Most all of these will deal with intense abuse and dehumanization from mirror!Celine to Sarang/mirror!Rumi (usually in its aftermath) and with mirror!zoemira being varying degrees of complicit to active in it. Suicidality on Celine’s part is also a major theme, and several discuss Rumi’s suicide attempt rather bluntly. I’ve tried to list other warnings where relevant but, again: it’s a lot. Read carefully
I sorted into five rough categories: story threads, mirrorverse exploration, aftermath of Sarang coming to the main timeline exploration, aftermath but it’s about Celine, and AUs of the AU. The first is most of what you were asking about
EDIT: so I’ve been trying to keep adding things and. Tumblr says I only get 100 links per post so. Check the reblogs for me continuing updates!
Threads:
The OG, featuring main!Celine trying to help her kid and main!huntrix duct taping mirror!Celine to a chair (also food restriction as abuse, mirror!Rumi thinking main!Celine is going to kill her)
“Kill your double” thread—focuses on direct aftermath (including Celine killing mirror!Celine and being a mass of self-loathing, hence the title)
Road trip au, in 4(+?) parts (or, Celine is a little worse at picking up what’s happening and thus ends up having to run off with Rumi to get her bearings. Very main!Celine in the mirrorverse focused): one two three four five
(Also: this ask and this one)
She/I split (wherein the girls attempt to push back on how Celine conflates herself with her counterpart. Very angsty and suicidality focused)

Glamour au crossover (au where Rumi just looked more demonic in childhood and developed glamouring + isn’t a Hunter)
it is a canon divergent Polytrix fic where Rumi tells the girls ablut her patterns mid-movie, and it’s SO SWEET. There is very little angst, most of the conflict is external, but it manages to be really addictive and engaging. Also so romantic even if you skip the sex scenes. If you are sad from an excess of angst, it is a good comfort fic. Easily up there in my top 5 of all time with GTC, SWWL, TC, and The Unchanging Polaris
I HAVE IT'S SO GOOOD
i binge read it on my kindle while i was traveling and um. it definitely fell victim to the "wait i MUST COMMENT ON EVERY CHAPTER" "oh shoot i'm on like chapter 23 this is gonna take forever" *proceeds to panic about it and not stay updated* dilemma but ahhh yes I am familiar!!! gosh okay i should catch up!
thank you for the recommendation i always ALWAYS appreciate!
also if anyone knows of any despite is all fanart pls send my way pls and thx
how can anybody concentrate when hearing the latest in real estate
Is that an allusion to the fact that I am a Jew and Jews are disproportionately represented in financial industries like real estate? It’s hard enough to be Jewish nowadays without antisemitic asks. It’s really tough to not get mad when I have to see this kind of thing in my inbox. I know you won’t care about what my voice is saying, but to all the haters out there, be quiet. To all the other Jews, although it’s a fight both day and night to stay strong, we need you to persevere.
Did you watch KPDH, see Celine, and immediately start frantically grabbing blender parts or something? Leave her alonneeeeeeeee!
I actually didn’t! I didn’t have strong feelings about Celine either way initially, I watched the movie and went “ah Rumi’s flawed but loving mom who shows up for two minutes”
And then I entered the ao3 tag and 98% of what I found wanted her dead
and also one of my favourite parts of turning back on my phone is seeing what Sarang&Company have been up to while Im gone
Happy belated ace day to you too (if you celebrate I guess lol)
That is also one of my favorite things to do :)
Please consider:
Sarang wasn’t vaccinated as a child. That would’ve required introducing her to a medical professional, obviously, and what did mirror!Celine care if the demon was weak enough to die?
(Rumi was always a healthy child, growing up, but there was this one fever she got when she was little, maybe seven—she was so cold, kept trying to bury herself in blankets even as Celine knew that it would make her burn alive. They ended up driving into the clinic in the middle of the night, Celine holding her burning, sweating baby in her arms, just panicking because the fever wouldn’t go down.
And she realizes that Sarang was never vaccinated and she thinks of that night and of the doctor talking her down and she nearly falls over, thinking of little baby Sarang sweating and shaking and dying out in that kennel)
So they have to get her her shots.
And there’s something about it—about the smell of alcohol wipes, about the feeling of the small and sharp thing, about the sight of something digging in—that just makes Sarang… uneasy.
It’s not fear, exactly, not the kind of fear that usually gets her, like when the smell of cooking meat makes her hear the cattle prod and drop to her knees, but she doesn’t like it
Celine doesn’t actually notice, not the first time, to busy trying not to lose her own mind, and she’s busy the second appointment, so Rumi ends up taking her little sister, but—it’s almost funny, realizing Sarang is scared of needles.
She’s making a face and staring straight ahead and trying incredibly hard not to snap at the doctor and it’s just so ordinary.
“Hey,” Rumi says, quietly. “You can hold my hand, if you want. I’m strong.”
Amd she puts her hand over Sarang’s, helps her uncurl the clawed fist.
“Just look at me,” she says. “If you don’t want to look, just look at me.”
And Sarang mumbles, “I’m strong,” a little bit petulant.
Ok it took a while but I read through every single piece of mirrormirrorau content from your master post.
Now I am sad and in need of some good thoughts.
So what about an au of the au where there is never any switch, but Zoey and Mira just decide one day that what they have done to rumi is wrong and they need to free her?
Now, an easy way of doing this is the idea of “oh, mirror!celine made them do all that and they never really wanted to” but what if…thats not really true?
Canon!ZoeyMira are both incredibly aggressive towards demons in the movie, what if they act just as terribly towards mirror!rumi voluntarily once they are taught that she is an evil demon?
To get into specifics, let’s say we have mirror!zoeymira as a debuted duo living apart from Celine in Seoul, and they keep the demon locked in the closet of the penthouse or something, so Celine isn’t controlling them anymore. They somehow realize (maybe the Honmoon influences them to think more about it) that they have done terrible things, and need to fix it.
Sure, they could just start treating Rumi like a person, but how could they ever get her to understand what has happened? The only way mirror!rumi’s quick path to acceptance worked in Og mirrorverse is that main!cast are DIFFERENT PEOPLE. How can you forgive the very SAME people who did this to you?
And what if we made this Rumi NOT forgiving and kind and a kind of idealized past victim, but instead angry and vindictive, as she has a right to be?
…this isn’t very happy at all, but maybe it could end well?
(honestly the most likely solution is that ZoeyMira find a new life for Rumi, get her a therapist and support her, but almost never interact with her personally, because how could she ever reconcile with them? But maybe it wouldn’t happen that way)
sorry for yapping and not being skilled enough to write it myself, but thanks again for the master post and for reading
Hello again!!! I’m glad you enjoyed :)
I think you’re right about the way we’ve written Sarang leaning rather gentle most of the time—she’s severely traumatized, it’s not all going to be soft things and coming out okay. Sometimes it’s deep rooted possessiveness and poorly controlled, hyperactive fight-or-flight and irrational attempts at self-isolation and an intense lack of understanding of social situations. You want the trauma, you gotta give ‘em the messy bitch disease
And. I think many people treat forgiveness as a shortcut to dealing with trauma, because it’s so idealized, and get surprised to find that it’s not: I forgave them, I should be okay now. Unfortunately, not how it works!
(Though I do think it’s a beautiful thing to forgive. I have real, deep admiration for people who are able, in quite extenuating circumstances, to set aside the part of them that might be acting from a place of hurt and the urge to hurt others back and instead look for constructive paths forward)
All of this is a long-winded way to push back on the idea of mirror!Rumi ending up angry and vindictive: Rumi, for all that she is absolutely aggressive and can get downright mean, walks up to the guy who put her on the ledge ten minutes after her suicide attempt wanting to save him.
So. Not vindictive, I don’t think. But learning that’s she’s a person, allowed to hold her wounds, allowed to have boundaries? Ohhh does that make her willing to defend herself with claws out
And—it’s hard, because she’s not a competent adult, she’s been denied too much education and socialization to function on her own, but she also doesn’t legally exist. So they have no idea how to integrate her back into the world, even if they just drop her off at a hospital somewhere and hope, like, who says the court-appointed guardian or whoever would be good to her?
But there’s this gaping abyss of the past between them—too many patterns to slip back into, too much guilt for mirror!Rumi to draw from.
Truthfully, they’re two steps from turning themselves in for what they’ve done, but mirror!Rumi is insistent that they can’t, or it would leave the Honmoon in shambles, and they said she’s a person so they have to listen to her, right?
And that puts them up the tree of “we need someone to mediate this shit and help her but we also apparently can’t confess to any crimes in the process. I guess”
Very weird. Very difficult. One would hope this was one of the version of the AU where Third was still alive, I think
Actively trying not to have them, tbh! If I go in open-minded I’m more likely to be able to enjoy the story for what it is, rather than getting mad at what it isn’t
