     Ah. The shoe was on the other foot. Or, rather, the lute was in the other’s hand. Granted, Rham’ir couldn’t play the lute, but that wasn’t the point. Perhaps he should have been a tad more careful with his humming--he had only himself to blame for Sayuri’s seemingly keen sense of hearing to catch his tune, as embarrassingly subconscious (and no doubt hideous) as it was. So her catching him in the act, and following request to hear more, had him flushing feverishly with no small amount of humiliation.

He knew a piss-poor explanation as to why he couldn’t sing for her would go rebuffed, and he was quick to give up his attempt at escaping this request.
