Feminize These Man-Hands: Udderly Smooth
MOOOOOOOO-ve over, hand creams and body lotions, we got something so bovine, it'll knock your hooves off! (Okay, enough of the really bad cow jokes, but seriously...)
I work with a bunch of guys. All guys, literally. The other two women who work there get to sit at their desks all day (working, of course) and one of them doesn't even have to come to the office to work any more than once a week on the norm, so of course their hands are a lot smoother and nicer than mine. Anyway, what I do with these guys is build signs; I'm one of two graphic designers there, and as cushy of a job as that sounds, I'm often working along side our fabricators to make sure they're understanding the job well and to make sure we are all on the same page. Materials pass from their hands to mine and back, so I'm handling things with wood and metal dust. I also screen print on materials, so I'm handling inks and chemicals. My nice and neat nail polish quickly becomes a has-been and my hands dry out and crack like it's nobody's business. Basically, I've earned my man-hands.
Anyway, I've been using those small little stocking stuffer-esque lotions from Bath & Body Works (True Blue Spa "Look Ma, New Hands" Paraffin Hand Lotion, $12) and it's okay for a few minutes. I think those are meant to really use them daily without your hands enduring heavy workouts with chemicals and other toxins and debris to keep your hands nice and soft. One of the office ladies heard my concern with my rough man-hands and showed me a bottle she kept on her desk that looked like it was sold by (the now defunct) Gateway Country stores. It's a white tube bottle with cow spots all over it and the name "Udderly Smooth" plastered right on the front. She gave me a sample packet she had and squirted some from the tube she had into my desert-skinned palms.

I may not totally believe in love at first sight, but with this product, it was definitely love at first touch!
It has this pearlescent look to it with a very faint fragrance of, well, freshness. You don't need a lot to get the full effect; just squeeze a small dollop onto your hands and work it in as you would any other lotion or hand cream and wow! Seriously, my hands feel great the rest of the day. Of course, I try to do this when I know I'm done getting messy and playing with chemicals. I last used some on Friday (I bought my own tube bottle at ShopRite when it was on sale for $1.99. Regular price is $2.99! Looks like it's cheaper on their website, too!) and my hands are STILL very lady-like. As you can see here, my hands are chapped and dried out from handling screen inks. I squirted a small dollop of the lotion into my hand (I actually squirted too much!) and wrung my hands together until all the product was gone. I let my hands relax for a minute to dry and then I'm back in business. I have an after picture to show! My hands looked and felt so much softer after I used it.
I am VERY impressed with this product. The texture of it is smooth and silky, not greasy or watery like some lotions I've used, and it rubs in really easily. It's also very affordable and the packaging is SO cute. C'mon, who doesn't like cow spots? Also, like I mentioned before, it has only a faint fragrance of freshness, so it's nothing overpowering. I would recommend this to everyone over and over again just so everyone can have soft hands, too! Plus I believe this may be okay for those with sensitive skin since the original formula is the formula they use for cows on their udders. (See? So the name fits!)
