       september 10th, 1989. dear diary, i haven't written in           this thing for, like, years, but i had to. last week something           special happened. veronica sawyer joined the heathers           ( god, it's so weird saying 'the heathers' but i really don't           know what else to call us ). for one thing, no one's joined the           heathers since 1st grade, when heather chandler and i met           heather duke & we just became, i don't know, a group. for           another thing, i have no clue how i hadn't noticed veronica           before. well, i guess i don't notice many people outside of           our 'clique' or whatever, but, whoa. she's not like heather or           heather. she isn't like kurt or ram or any of the other people i           hang out with. she's different. she isn't as fake as everyone           else is & she doesn't make me feel like i have to be a bitch           all the time like heather does. god, i'm glad she joined the           heathers. i know it doesn't seem like it all that much yet, but i           really think she might change things for me, for all of us           heathers. in a good way. i just hope heather doesn't change           her. she can do that to a person, i know. but, anyway, i really           like veronica. she's pretty ( i mean really pretty & in a really           beautiful way & not a fake way, it's not like it's make-up or           anything it's like her actual face & it's really nice ) & nice &           real & good at all the subjects i'm bad in, like english, & she           can even get me out of gym class!! i hope she sticks around.                                                                          ~ heather
