Week 8 - Deliverable & Internship Update

Deliverable: I've been working on editing my interview videos for this week and next week. I am also been working on the IG carousel for each interviewee. I have made a schedule for myself to edit 1-2 videos per week so I can get it reviewed by Sharla and post it the following week. In the meantime, I have been posting motivational type content on my IG makeyourmove.cm

Internship: This past week, I've been creating promotional items for events happening on campus such as Alejandro's Food Truck for Taco Day. We were able to promote the event and give out 100 tacos free to HonCC students. Since creating reels and interactive posts for students on my internship's IG honcc_sld, there has been an increase of accounts insights reached within the past 30 days (2.7K non followers).

Week 15 Update:

Here is some insights of my internship IG account & my deliverable IG account from the past week!

I learned that many of the accounts who interact with both accounts are mostly non-followers, which is better than no interaction!

I noticed whenever I posted info on HonCC Faculty and Staff members I would tend to get more interactions with the post. It could be because previous students or alumni recognize the person I interviewed or found the information useful/interesting.

For my interview with Jill, there was more interaction with the post. It could be because she’s a well known college counselor within the trades program or because she is very outspoken with everyone she meets.

Week 14 Update

Deliverable: This past weekend has been overwhelming. With the holidays coming up and family/friends visiting from out of town, I have not had enough time to work on my final interview film to edit! I finished my IG carousel layout edit for my @makeyourmove.cm IG account, but not the final video portion. It is really crunch time with finals, projects, and exams. It's honestly worse because Thanksgiving is coming up and finding the time to balance work, school, and family/friends has been crazy. I will try to get my film done by tomorrow so I can have something to post for my IG feed. But I want it to be good because the person I interviewed is a great academic counselor and deserves that type of representation within the video.

Internship: So far, I am almost complete with my internship hours with just 20-30 hours to go. I've learn that I need to keep up with my communication skills and update other team members I work with about the process for my designs and IG posts needed to promo events.

I was surprised that the reel I made for HonCC Volleyball had 2,584 views so far. Helping promote off campus events that are free for students is important so others know they can be a part of something during their time at HonCC.

Week 13 Update

Deliverable: I finally finished my interview film edits with Nalea, a full time student at LCC and a student leader at HonCC. During my interview edits, there were some words I had to cut out like "uh" and "like". The interview process went well, my interviewee knew what she wanted to talk about before hand and I helped her get comfortable by talking about her experiences at HonCC which made it worth being a part of the community.

Internship: This week, I was able to take come life footage of the off campus volleyball game with our HonCC students playing against the other community colleges. I was able to take some action shots and promoting it on the honcc_sld IG story page. I almost got hit with the volleyball one too many times while capturing footage, so I need to make sure I am completely aware of my surrounds while taking photos and videos at the same time.

Week 12 Deliverable Update : I finished another interview video with Brigitte this week! I posted it last night and checked out the insights this morning… this is the most insights one of my videos has reached so far!

I think that posting in the evening times gives the most views for posts/videos since people tend to be relaxing (aka on their phones).

Week 12 Internship Update: I promoted and created various types of fliers and promo videos for the past events that has happened on campus such as Karaoke Day, Paint N' Eat event, Bowling Day, and more. I have also updated the highlights for the events that has passed to give people a better insight on what each event was and what happened during the event.

Week 11 deliverable update: I am making the finishing touches for my student interview with Brigitte. She works 4-5 jobs a week for a part time student at Honolulu CC! I wanted to be sure I got the correct spelling for the companies she works with and her job titles.

I noticed the automatic subtitles CapCut generates aren’t always accurate so I have to listen to the audio 3-5x to get the exact words she is saying spelled correctly.

Week 10 mid-week update: I’ve gotten sick this past weekend (negative for covid, positive for a cold). For the past 4 days I’ve been coughing up a lung, drinking lots of tea, and sleeping. When I find the energy during the day, I’ve been working on next week’s video edits.

For Jason’s video, I realized he says the word like a lot and I’m trying my best to edit out those extra words that are not needed within the interview.

I have been struggling on finding the energy to edit and work on my projects for my capstone and internship class due to my current illness. Hopefully this cold passes quickly 🤞

Deliverable Update: working on next week’s film edit featuring a HonCC student. I found it easier to edit all my filming content on my iPad on CapCut App instead of an Adobe Program.
