Pink Floyd, Animals 1977.

Animals is a concept album that critiqued social structures, capitalism, poverty, the rich and even the Punk movement as Pink Floyd amongst other bands were targeted by the scene. It’s another Roger Walters album, politically and musically with angst against the politics of the day in Britain.

Animals are used as the social classes you have the following mindless Sheep. Dogs are ruthless and deceiving predators. Finally you have the Pigs which are the cruel controlling rulers. The lyrics are extremely depressing but hey that’s Roger Walters all over. The music as usual is first class, nothing complicated but nevertheless excellent. Animals is another classic Pink Floyd album and is highly regarded whatever your views are.
