before coming out, i used to browse hundreds (*thousands) of posts of gay couples wondering if one day i could ever find something like that. they all seemed too perfect to be real. but, dear reader, I’m pleased to report, i found it! it’s been a decade of wishing for love in the closet, and now, here i am!

I came out in 2019, got disowned by my adventist family, had to go build my own life in california. but now 3 years on, here i am, finishing uni at the #1 university in the UK, in an amazing relationship with a guy who’s gone through the same things as me. there’s something magical about knowing we’re not alone. now we’re both finishing top degrees at st andrews, and exploring scotland.

To anyone still in the closet (i feel like the last one out, but I know there’s got to be a few more of you), it gets better, it gets so much better. things you could never image will happen to you. your dreams, sometimes they aren’t just dreams, sometimes they’re future you, beckoning you to keep going, keep fighting, keep surviving, because future you lives in a world beyond your imagination.
