Oh man taskys being set up as the big bad of the season... Maybe this show isn't terrible
God I've got one more episode to watch before Deadpool... I'm so close....
So I think that, among ultimate’s many problems, is its pretty blatant disregard for the actual significance of the stuff it uses from the comics, especially stuff taken from Civil War.
One of the very big examples is the Iron Spider. The suit was never just some super fun gift that tony gave Peter because he thinks he’s a super cool hero or whatever the whole point of the suit was to showcase how little tony cared about Peter’s autonomy as a hero and how willing he was to manipulate his friends to further his own agenda. It was also a pretty big fuck you to everything Peter stood for as a hero, since he was so ready to throw it around as a weapon and give it to anyone who could figure out how to work a blaster, which is another problem I have with them just giving the suit away to someone who could literally do just that. Also Cho is already a different hero. why
The other super big problem I had was with the super short lived Iron Patriot arc. When I first saw that they were using it, I actually got super excited because I thought that this could provide a really cool arc where Norman plays hero only to infiltrate shield or something! I thought it was gonna be really cool! But no, he was just kinda. being a hero or something and he only became a bad guy again against his will. They had a fantastic opportunity to use a civil war thing out of the context of civil war and still have it work perfectly, and they completely threw it away in favor of again ignoring the actual meanings of the stuff they pull.
I’m also mad about the thunderbolts because that’s an actually cool team that I like. They also call the rookies the new warriors? which just seems really dumb.
Anyway this show is a mess and I’m still super pissed about everything concerning the symbiotes
