It wasn’t often that he saw things like this before Halloween. And believe him, he knew Halloween. He was typically around trying to bring a bit of a cold breeze but he mostly liked seeing the costumes. This one was pretty cool! Granted, considering it wasn’t even October yet, he was pretty sure it wasn’t meant to be a ‘fun’ costume. The person wearing it seemed to be relatively serious about what they were doing. Especially when he finished beating up a couple of thugs.

A low whistle broke the post-fight silence.

“Those were some pretty cool moves!” He didn’t expect the other to hear him. People were believing in him back home now, but he still wasn’t used to being seen. “What’re you s’posed to be, anyway? Spider-guy? Bugman? I mean, the costume could use a little work. Maybe a little blue...”

The fleeting vision only lasted for a tenth of a second at the speed he was traveling, but the helmet slowed down his brain enough to barely make it out. No way. The distraction was so sudden that the Nova didn’t even notice the oncoming brick surface until it was almost too late, his head turning to find it only feet from his face. Oh-- Sam jerked back, arms thrust out in front of him, feet splayed forward. The Nova Force around him flashed bright as he practically screeched to a stop, eyes wide as he found his nose only a few centimeters from the wall’s surface. Oh, that could have been bad. And yet still, Sam thought almost nothing of it as he whirled around, streaking back the way he’d come until his eyes fell on the familiar sight of his teammate.
