hi! do you have any tips for college interwiews? hope you answer aaa ❤️
Hi there! Sorry it took us a while to get to you >< To be completely honest, we haven’t personally had a whole lot of experience with college interviews but we do have some tips (:
Do Your Research. Make sure that you have a really clear understanding of the college that is interviewing you. This includes specific aspects of the school that you particularly admire (this is where college visits can help) and also just general knowledge. Knowing these facts will show your interviewer that you are genuinely interested in this college and that you have put in time and effort to prepare for the interview (:
Know Why. It is crucial that you are able to explain why you want to go to this college and why you would be a good fit. Colleges are looking for students who they know will be able to fit into their school campus, but also keep in mind that interviewers are looking for interesting personalities and individuals who demonstrate character.
Favourite Books/Movies. This is a question that seems to appear quite often during college interviews, so it would be a good idea to have an answer to this question prepared. Make sure you can explain why this is your favourite and also be prepared to be able to provide more background and commentary on it.
Prepare questions. Usually, at the end of an interview, the interviewer might ask you if you have any questions for them. This is a good chance for you to get some answers to your questions and it also shows them that you are prepared and interested. However, do make sure that the answer to your question cannot simply be found on their website!
Movement and Posture. Whether your interview is taking place in person or through Skype, make sure to sit up straight and don’t fidget around. It’s always nice to maintain some eye contact with the interview (don’t look around all the time, a lot of people start looking at the ground or ceiling when they’re nervous) Most importantly, remember to smile!
