The first day, he figured she might be sick.

The second day, he figured she was still sick.

The third and fourth day was when he started to panic.

And on the fifth day, he found himself sneaking into the Sohma estate. It was all too easy with his skills to get to Kagura and Hatsumi's door without being seen and when it was answered, he didn't even hesitate.

"What's going on? Where's Isuzu?" What happened? It better not be what he thought it was.

     Drawing the bow slowly across the strings, Lelouch silently listened for anything out of tune. While Suzaku wasn’t home, he always felt the need to come to this park, located fairly close to their house. Nearing twilight, there weren’t very many people, leaving him standing by a solitary park bench to play for an imaginary audience...as he had not too long ago.

     Even then, he wasn’t ready to play for others, even people he knew. At least out here, it gave a different sense than being in his cage. He gave one last listen to the area around him--no voices, no sound of lingering footsteps, he should be fine.

     As the chill that the sunset brought in settled among the streets, he drew the bow across the strings again, slowly, readily, took a slow breath and started playing whatever he felt. Sheet music was no longer required--he’d had plenty of time for memorization growing up.

“Because...” Okay even after some quick thinking he didn’t have a good excuse. “Because they ran out of a ‘get well’ cards and that was all I could get.” So yeah he felt like a shitty boyfriend because of it. Hell, he hadn’t even known she was in the hospital until he tracked her down himself. Even then he had to actually go in and inquire. Only then did Trunks actually text her to ask how she ended up there. “I got you other things too if you want them...”

His head tilted to the side as he looked down at her. He had half a mind to place her back where she was, mumble an apology, and go back to his own work. Given she was doing school work, he was looking over some paperwork he had brought home with him. He had a board meeting to get ready for as it was happening in a couple of days. An important one. Needless to say, Trunks did actually have to put in a bit of effort this time. Even with his photographic memory easily helping him remember past meetings with the team whose project was being presented, he didn’t want to mess anything up.

Just as he didn’t wish to do that with his girlfriend. Now that he was able to actually hold her, he would admit that he may be acting a bit needy in the physical contact department. Knowing how she used to act, he didn’t want to overstep and make her feel uncomfortable. Her reaction almost made him think he was doing that now. He loosened his arm around her waist, giving her the chance to move off of him if she wished. A part of him hope she wouldn’t though. Given her reaction he didn’t know which response to expect. 

“Mhm, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sit like this. But you’d rather not then it’s fine.”
