Two characters of the idea I’ve got. Helsin and of course, god of brood himself, Abbidon. Helsin is Abbidon’s adopted ward and they are just if not more a fanatic about things as a result. Still, they are the ONLY thing alive that can calm Abbidon’s fanatic rage when he’s up in arms.
But if you hurt Helsin, Abbidon is going to curb stomp you ten miles down.
Helsin is a half-breed Valkavii/Umajii.
Abbidon says he will brood if he wants to so leave him the hell alone! He’s going to stand by a window and glare out it just to be MORE broody!
Was so dang busy today... didn’t get time to even sit down to write Overwatch promtps or work on aquawatch but wanted to do SOMETHING before I crashed out so ...have this <3
The start of WIP design for worldsetting races on the left there. The larger figure is a Valkavii and the smaller figure is a Umajii. They are species closely related, sort of cousin species, both created by Harbinger.
The right is a Valkavii face up close... and SURPRISE that is not technically my OC c: A dear friendo of mine made OC in my worldsetting who is a Valkavii so using them to play around with the race design and clothing <3 People who make OCs in my worldsetting make he shriek and I then must draw their darling over and over again. I’ll be coloring these/working on em again after aquawatch asks batch is handled and writing is completed on the morrow <3

Helsien is a HALF Umaji. Although has the basic headshape and horn structure, they have actual hair, rather than the more stiff, quill-like, short tuffs Umajii’s actually grow. Also they have a second pair of eyes which ONLY the gods have which show that Helsien is of divine stock
Helsien’s mother died in labor. She and Sarafien, being of the more traditionalist view, wanted a natural birth.... did not turn out so well when your child is a demi-god/their egg too big to handle safely combined with other complications of the birth.
I’m more or less pleased with head designs of the Umajii and Umajii demi-gods now. Sara too I like better although the gems on the side of his face need more work and more points next time!!
Scribbles for the night! More OC worldsetting stuff. You see, when I designed the Valks, made them similar to the Umajii....so worldsetting kicked in and BAM! Now there is a lot of history between these two species! They are cousin species in fact! c:
Some minor updates to the Umajii and Virtue design. Harbinger was modified slightly.
Harbinger is the creator of the Aspects and Virtues. The Aspects were their daughters and were the first created. The Aspects helped in creating the Valkavas. They were meant to be beautiful, a very shining and durable race, excellent senses and extremely powerful for a mortal race. Given power to harness energy inside and release it in concentrated blasts. Valks developed this into energy arrows. However, the Valks eventually would rise up and kill the aspects and reject all authority of immortals (looong story that XD)
Harbinger was disheartened and created a new set of gods, their sons, the Virtues and from the virtues, the Umajii were created. That just pissed the Valks off more as they felt super replaced. The Umajii are smaller, more vunerable, but much more technological minded and crafty. The Virtues were made larger and more powerful than the aspects as well to not be easy to take down.
Some say the twin aspect sisters are still alive but this is unconfirmed rumor and speculation. There are currently five virtues. The one I drew is the eldest, Sewrathis.
SO that is why these two species are in fact, of the same immortal lineage and share similar looks in some ways and a similar biology to some extent. They both were created by Harbinger. Currently the Umajii though are the “favored” race that Harbinger helps protecting with the virtues and is worshiped by the virtues. The Valkavas are agnostic and hate immortals, ride about on gryphons killing gods now. To say the least, Valks and Umajii are NOT on friendly terms and often at war with each other....
