Artfight 2025 attack: Umbrielle for @sycamorewrought !

Some more concept art for my original character Umbrielle. Wanted to try out some different outfits for her. The 1st one is her signature outfit.

In the months between Jules Churchill’s victory ball and the start of the 77th Hunger Games, Satine Harris was summoned to the Capitol. After a few sessions with some of her regulars, she found herself in the company of a dear friend- Umbrielle Lushmeadow. What ensued was a spontaneous trip to a dog breeder for Umbrielle’s birthday.

Mirabelle, the latest addition to the Harris family, was seven weeks old. Roughly four months have passed since then, and the puppy is taking to the spotlight in a way Satine never anticipated. She accompanied her to the reaping, and travelled up to the Capitol with her afterwards. President Snow’s own personal request; the people love the puppy. She makes a nice distraction.

what made your character decide to become a stylist? Umbrielle wanted to be a Hunger Games stylist since she was a little girl. She worked hard and intensely, starting a Capitol style blog in her teenage years, @umbrielle, which established her reputation with the Capitol citizens. Upon reaching the age of nineteen, Umbrielle was offered the stylist position for District Eight, becoming the envy of other stylists as she bypassed paying her dues in the less thrilling Districts.

describe their style: Umbrielle’s style mixes vintage pieces with Capitol flair. She loves pastels, tea-length skirts, classy jewelry, and pattern mixing. Most of all, Umbrielle adores hats: the more detailed and unique, the better. Umbrielle will mix her favourite things with the unique aspects of her tributes’ personalities: when she finds their sparkle, that’s when their outfits truly come to life.

biography:

The daughter of a Capitol socialite and an entertainment reporter, it’s no surprise that Umbrielle Lushmeadow eventually found a home in the Games. She grew up attending red carpet events, fashion shows, parties in the Presidential Mansion, until the spaces that thrived on exclusivity felt like home. She always has been vibrant, bright, and warm-hearted, with a genuine adoration for fashion and the ability to express oneself through clothing.

When Umbrielle was a teenager, she began a blog focusing on her take on the year’s games. @umbrielle was a celebration of the togetherness of Panem, of the incredible moments and self-expression that came throughout the Games. She reviewed Arena uniforms, discussed how they would affect trends, and used her silver-spoon knowledge to work her way into the hearts of Hunger Games fanatics throughout the Capitol. Her blog was consistently one of the most reputable Games coverage sources in the Capitol, and her sunny personality was what continued to draw in the attention of the Games staff.

With the success of @umbrielle taking off, it was only a matter of time before Umbrielle was headhunted as a potential Games stylist. Her clear prowess for fashion and style, along with her mother’s Capitol influences, granted her a starting position in a better District than Twelve: District Eight. She was only nineteen, nervous and inexperienced, but she jumped at the chance to give it a shot. Her first duo of tributes were two nervous and soft-eyed teenagers, who Umbrielle immediately fell in love with. She wanted to shelter them from everything that had the potential to cause them harm.

But she couldn’t. All she could do was make them look incredible, and let the sponsors do the rest.

Umbrielle had every textile she could imagine. She blended sequins and faux fur, hand-dyed dresses at four in the morning while binge-watching Real Housewives of the Capitol reruns. And she watched, tears of joy in her eyes, as Satine Harris was the Victor of her first styling endeavour. She carefully crafted Satine dresses and skirts (and large, fashionable hats) that hid her scars and gave her power despite everything that had happened to her.

And watching Satine in her beautiful dress, accepting her crown with the kind of courage that Umbrielle could only dream of? That is what made Umbrielle fall in love with her job. And her District.

At twenty-seven, Umbrielle is still styling and still close as ever with Satine. She’s often given the opportunity to graduate to a new District, but chooses to remain in the District that stole her heart years ago. Umbrielle is loyal, hard-working, and genuinely kind. Despite her big heart, she is oblivious to the darkness behind the Games, and truly feels like her designs will alleviate any suffering. Although she is materialistic and relatively vapid, she is authentic and creative in her design work, which makes up for her lack of depth. She desires to work with her tributes to capture their sparkle: what makes them special from a Capitol perspective. With a keen eye for what the Capitol loves, Umbrielle is ready to work hard once again to bring a Victor home for her District: and to make the Capitol cuter as she does it.
