A #makoshark #mermaid. A vicious being, intelligent and capable of great speed and even greater cruelty, they often find work as bandits, cutthroats and mercenaries. A Hungry Ghost accompanied by ghost squid. Such apparitions tend to form from those whose deaths have been senseless, unjust, violent or unhappy. There is generally some strong desire or sense of unfulfillment that ties them to the realm of being, trapped to wander listlessly in a state of limbo until the matters that prevent their souls from releasing have been settled. Often and unfortunately, they are exploited even in their incorporeal state by necromancers or soul harvesting demons, the very desires that drive them used to power the machinations of others. Even more alarming are the whispers of mass warbands forming from the warrior ranks of these disembodied spirits, seeking to the join the fabled procession of the Wild Hunt. There are things that lurk in the darkness beyond the veil of perception, things that not just gaze upon your form through pinprick pupils but perceive the very emanations of your life force, things that see the shape of your soul from the murk of shadowy fixtures, things that cannot be gazed back upon by untrained eyes. Such are the outsiders colloquially known as the Watchers, the hive minded beings that many purport serve as the eyes of the Many Mouthed Beast. Dwelling almost exclusively within the plane of shadows, the Watchers are ambushers, using their unique planar piercing appendage to sting and paralyze any unsuspecting prey unfortunate enough to cross their hidden dens. Thus the wariness of experienced wayfarers towards the swathes of unmapped junctures that join the worlds. In life, Pok Pok was a mighty cyclops warlord whose soul was trapped into his own crystallized eye by an impetuous sorcerer. After betraying the sorcerer, he scoured the tomes of his late master, digging up the skull of his former body, and with dark magiks (and even more betrayal), found new life as a sentient lich lord. He commissioned a grand suit of dread plate to encase what remains of his body and has no less than 9 gemstone phylacteries embedded into the animated armor. It is said that when the World Dragon was defeated countless aeons ago, one of its 8 dying heads exploded into the writhing precursors of today's modern Wyrms, many still blessed with the gift of elemental fire. The greatest and eldest of their kind, Uncalgalon, is said to have lived to have seen the days of the Dawn Age. Many of the ancient highways and thoroughfares that comprise the Delving is said to be the work of his earth boring. Over a thousand kingdoms have crumbled beneath the weight of his coils, and many more dread the day he rears his head once more from his slumber.
