A lot of ATN hopes/predictions are Gideon and Harrow achieving perfect lyctorhood. But rereading HTN and I don't think that will happen or that it will be a good thing. The issue with lyctorhood is that it removed your humanity. Even if you don't have to murder someone, being an immortal all powerful being means that you just don't care about regular people anymore. What they were as humans wasn't great and immortality has just made it worse, they have stagnated and their flaws compounded. That is why everyone on the Mithreaum is so insufferable (affectionate) why Mercymorn can't bother to remember how old would be reasonable for Harrow to be (i.e. not 3). After 10 thousand years they just are not normal/human anymore. The only normal one (stretching that definition a lot here to mean not terrible) is Pyrrah but she was not active for most of the 10 thousand

I really don't want that for Gideon and Harrow I'd rather they have a meaningful death than become Augustine and Mercymorn
