    As the sky lit up over their heads, Shiro couldn’t help but  stop and look  at Hunk. Shadows danced on his face, illuminating his skin in bright flashes of  STARLIGHT. Despite the phenomenon happening above them, it couldn’t take his eyes off the other boy. The feeling in his chest was too intense, the mood too perfect, the timing… His lips found their way to Hunk’s round cheek. He pressed a soft kiss there and lingered for a moment before pulling back just enough to see Hunk’s reaction, a  tentative  expression wearing on his face. “ I’m sorry… you looked… really handsome, just now. ”

Of course, the view overhead was gorgeous, something that could only be experienced from being on ground level, something that lost it’s glow while they were surrounded by stars and planets everyday. But the sight beside him was equally entrancing -- despite being something he could see regularly. He’d done his best to focus on the sight above, not wanting to stare, not wanting to appear rude, but that only served to leave him startled when he felt a gentle pressure against his cheek, his body tensing for a long moment, before turning to look over at Shiro, one hand absently reaching up to touch his cheek.

“I -- no, no, it’s okay,” he was quick to reassure, swallowing down a lump that threatened to form in his throat, licking at his lips. “There’s -- you don’t have to apologize, I mean. You could...do that any time and I wouldn’t complain,” he added, almost sheepishly before taking a breath. “I’d like -- can I--” He shook his head before finally, “Can I kiss you?”

He frowned, fingers idly tapping against his thigh as people came and went. His mind was adrift and with it, his eyes. Thoughts meandered to how he got here, where he wanted to go - no, where he will go. 

And those that he wanted at his side. 

“I never did thank you for assisting me at the Kral Zera, did I? I assure you, you have my highest thanks.”

     the sky had a beautiful hue to it at ka’livahl , just the RIGHT combination of pink and blue--- a hint of black because the natives were forever cloaked in darkness due to their rapidly dying sun . which was nothing they could due much about , really--- except evacuate them .

     and lance was doing just that , ushering those lagging BEHIND into the castle and handing out rations ( with spooky altean labels he didn’t quite trust ) , when one of them--- copper colored , scaly but like ROCK--- grabbed his forearms and shook him violently . 

    “ my son ! i cannot find him ! “ 

    lance patiently shrugged off their hands , raising his own in a placating gesture , “ i--- alright . don’t worry . i’ll find him for you , no BIG . get aboard the ship with the others and we’ll be sure not to leave anyone behind . “

     and THAT was when lance took off . no warning . no prerequisite . and the sun continued to die .
