It was a pleasant day in Morioh. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, birds were chirping... and one woman was distressed by a feline in a tree.

“Oh dear,” Shinobu murmured. A tiny gray tabby was clinging to a branch high in one of the park’s trees. The way it shook told her that it was clearly terrified and stuck. It wasn’t her cat, but she couldn’t leave the poor thing to hang there helplessly. Her memories of previous encounters with cats gone wrong made her move cautiously at first. That caution rapidly began to fade into boldness at the thought of how scared that poor cat must be. “Hold on, I’ll get you!” She just had to climb a tree. How difficult could that be? With a nod to herself, she reached onto her tip-toes to grab hold of a low-hanging branch.
