Next one down. My lungs act like I handed them an eviction notice, and they are determined to fulfill it. Fun fact, in german tonsillitis is called angina. And if I would use that word, a lot would assume it is well about the heart.
Sorry that this one is shorter.

Chapter 73: Diaper duty
Crosshair leaning back in his bunk with Orion on his lap, showing him some game he got. Not that he would admit that he did download toddler apps to play with Orion. Which is most likely an open secret. But after a while Crosshair feels a warm sensation by his thigh where Orion sits. And he quickly gets up and holds Orion under his arms, and away from himself.
Crosshair's sudden movement startles the others, and they watch curiously as he swiftly carries Orion over to Tech. Tech looks up, surprised, as Crosshair approaches with Orion held out at arm's length. "Uh, what's going on?" Tech asks, reaching out to take Orion from Crosshair. Crosshair clears his throat, a faint blush creeping up his neck. "He... uh... needs a change," he mumbles, avoiding eye contact as he hands Orion over to Tech. Tech chuckles, understanding dawning on his face as he takes Orion in his arms. "Thanks, Crosshair," he says, giving him a grateful nod. "I've got it from here." Crosshair seems to get flustered when Orion needs a change, for whatever reason he can’t handle it at all. Crosshair nods curtly, a slight smirk playing on his lips as he retreats to his own bunk. The others exchange amused glances, knowing full well what prompted Crosshair's sudden handoff.
As Tech starts to tend to Orion's needs, the squad continues their evening routine, the incident adding a light-hearted moment to their otherwise ordinary day on Kamino. And amidst the laughter and camaraderie, Tech can't help but feel grateful for the support and understanding of his brothers, even when it comes to the less glamorous aspects of parenting. Getting up to walk to the corner where he set up a changing table. “Ya know, I could do it.” Wrecker offers out of no where.
Tech looks at Wrecker, surprised by the offer but grateful for the assistance. "Are you sure, Wrecker? It's not exactly the most glamorous task," he says, a hint of hesitation in his voice. Wrecker grins broadly, his enthusiasm evident. "Of course, Tech! I've changed diapers before, by the younger clones. Besides, little buddy here needs a diaper change, and I'm happy to help." The fact that Wrecker often helped the Kaminoans take care of the younger clones, just shows that the big clone has a heart bigger than the galaxy.
Tech nods, appreciating Wrecker's willingness to pitch in. "Alright then, Wrecker. Thanks." Wrecker carefully takes Orion from Tech, cradling him gently in his massive arms as he heads over to the designated changing area. The others watch with amusement, knowing Wrecker's clumsy exterior belies a surprisingly deft touch when it comes to caring for Orion.
As Wrecker sets to work changing Orion's diaper, Tech can't help but smile at the sight. Despite the challenges they face, moments like these remind him of the bond they all share, forged through battles fought and victories won together. And as Wrecker hums a tune while he works, Tech feels a surge of gratitude for the unwavering support of his brothers, especially when it comes to looking after Orion.
“Woah there!” Wrecker laughs loudly, taking a step back and lifting his arms. As Orion while being changed started to pee. All over his uncle.
Tech looks up catching Wrecker’s gaze, nodding in understanding. "Yeah, I've been there too, Wrecker. It comes with the territory."
As Wrecker finishes up and returns Orion to Tech, Tech reaches for the wipes and an onesie, ready to complete the task. "Thanks for the help, Wrecker. I'll take it from here." Handing Wrecker the wipes.
Wrecker grins, patting Orion gently on the head before heading off to the showers, tapping the wipes on his blacks. Tech finishes change with practiced efficiency, grateful for Wrecker's assistance and the camaraderie they all share, even in the less glamorous moments of parenthood.

Hey Miss Zoey love your work! Just curious I've been reading a lot of the Dad batch but what about Uncle batch? For instance if you had to babysit the nieces and nephews with one of the boys or Rex or Wolffe how do you think it would go?
I hope that you are having a restful weekend and all is well. 😁
Aloha!
Thanks! Love to read that 😊
The "Uncle Batch", huh? Doesn't ring as good as the other one, yet I think it's worth a shot 😁 I'd like to know about that too!
I'm assuming younger kids, not teens...
The Bad Batch HCs - The Uncle Batch
Hunter
He's the uncle with the sick knife tricks that the kids aren't supposed to copy. The uncle who knows all about wilderness survival and takes them camping. He teaches them about fishing, making campfires, setting up camp and picking mushrooms. He is great with his nephews and nieces, he has the calmness and patience to be a good role model, except for the knife thing, maybe. Hunter has a way of calming children when they are hurt or scared, his voice and calmness soothe them almost immediately.
Echo
Can be a gentle soul, but he is not afraid to be stricter when he sees fit, unlike most of his other brothers, he can definitely say "no" when he has to. This doesn't make him unpopular, though, he is the uncle to go to for advice, and he tells the funniest stories about his brothers. He also makes the best snacks when he is responsible for the food as a babysitter. He might be stricter than the rest, but he is also loving and patient. Echo is that uncle the kids want to have around when they are sick. Echo makes the best soup and has the softest voice when reading to his sick nephews and nieces.
Wrecker
The fun uncle, who constantly tells jokes, takes the kids to fairs and amusement parks. Wrecker knows a lot of funny games, boredom does not arise that quickly. He can hardly say "no" and most of the time the kids have a sugar shock when they are left alone with him, because Uncle Wrecker always has sweets with him. Of course, he likes to watch over the kids, and he protects them with his life if he has to. The kids adore him, he is so warm and lively, but also gentle, that goes down well with the kids.
Tech
The uncle who knows all the answers, well, most of them. He knows a lot, tells a lot, and often doesn't realize whether he's exciting or boring the children. But his inventiveness knows no bounds, he invents new games practically non-stop. He is good-natured and can hardly say no, but when it comes to the safety of the kids, he puts his foot down. Nephews and nieces like him because he always has an answer when they ask him something, he is attentive and patient and never gets tired of answering their questions. The kids learn from him, but in a way he also learns from the kids, especially in the interpersonal area. He learns to read their behavior, and at some point he knows before something happens that something is up.
Crosshair
He tells the best scary stories, mostly ones that aren't really suitable for the kids, but they hang on every word he says with fascination. He is the quiet, grumpy uncle who rarely comes out of his shell, yet is adored on all sides by his nephews and nieces and is not infrequently introduced as the cool uncle. Of course, Crosshair pretends to be annoyed by the clinginess when they cling to his limbs, but underneath the grumpy facade sits a proud uncle who enjoys the attention.
Quite possibly, he'll smugly say to his brother(s), "Your kids love me more than they love you."
Just because the show is over, does not mean the fandom is. Or not yet I hope. It was a heartfelt moment, I think I never cried so much for a series. But it brought me so much. I met friends, found artists and I had the courage to start posting. Thanks for all of that. And I feel the show made me even closer to my baby brother.

Chapter 48: Gentle Giant
“I actually wanted to bath Orion later.” Tech manages to state between the noises Wrecker makes to entertain Orion. Who reaches his tiny arms out to his uncle, and quickly gets what he is asking for. Wrecker, with Orion comfortably cradled in his massive arms, grinned at Tech. "Don't worry, Tech. I got this! Bath time with Uncle Wrecker!"
Tech chuckled, realizing that Wrecker's enthusiasm for bath time was genuine. He watched as Wrecker navigated through the cramped living space, the baby bathtub in hand. The contradiction of Wrecker's brawny frame and the delicate task of caring for a baby brought a smile to Tech's face. Wrecker truly is Orion’s gentle giant.
As Wrecker set up the baby bathtub, Tech prepared the essentials, towels, and a fresh set of clothes for Orion, and baby shampoo. The Havoc Marauder, once a place for missions and plans, now transformed into a space where the camaraderie among the brothers extended to caring for the newest member of their unconventional family. Wrecker, with his playful demeanour, gently lowered Orion into the warm water, eliciting a series of coos and giggles from the delighted infant. Tech observed the scene, appreciating the genuine affection that Wrecker displayed for his nephew. Formed has a dynamic of shared responsibilities and genuine care for Orion. The baby's infectious laughter echoed in the small space, erasing the shadows of war that once cloaked their interactions. As Wrecker engaged in playful banter with Orion during bath time, it became evident that the Havoc Marauder had become more of a home not only for missions but also for moments of joy and shared connection.
Tech, considering the moment as an opportunity to catch up on some system maintenance, glanced at Wrecker with gratitude. "Wrecker, I appreciate your help. I'll take this time to run some diagnostics and ensure everything is in optimal condition." “Sure thing Tech, gotta get that little detonator all squeaky clean!” As Wrecker continued to engage in delightful banter with Orion, Tech retrieved his toolkit and datapad. With efficient movements, he began running diagnostics on the Havoc Marauder's systems. The hum of machinery and the occasional sounds of laughter from Wrecker and Orion created a unique symphony.
Tech delved into his work, the glow from the datapad casting a soft light on his focused expression. He navigated through the ship's intricate systems, identifying and addressing any potential issues. Despite the ongoing activity, the efficient rhythm of Tech's fingers and the occasional babbling of Orion created a harmonious blend of work and familial interaction. The atmosphere is one of camaraderie, a testament to the adaptability and resilience of these unconventional brothers. As Tech worked diligently on the ship's systems, he couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment, a realization that even in the midst of covert missions and secrets, the bonds they forged endured, creating a haven within the confines of the Havoc Marauder.
Crosshair, navigating through the slightly cramped space, eyed the scene before him. Wrecker, sitting on the floor with Orion in in the baby bathtub, seemed engrossed in the impromptu water play. The slick surface from the baby bath's aftermath proved to be a precarious challenge as Crosshair inched forward, his boots threatening to slide. With careful steps, Crosshair approached the scene, acutely aware of the potential hazard beneath his feet. Orion, captivated by the water and Wrecker's antics, unleashed a series of gleeful babbles. Crosshair couldn't suppress a smirk at the sight of Wrecker's antics with the little one. One he quickly covered by shifting his toothpick from one side to the other, in case someone saw. As Crosshair reached the other side of the impromptu play area, he skilfully maneuvered through the dampness, managing to avoid any unexpected slips. With a sigh he goes to sit in the cockpit, maybe annoy Tech.
Wrecker, with his robust frame, carefully lifted Orion from the baby bathtub, a grin stretching across his face as the little one giggled in response. Though lacking Tech's finesse in the art of infant swaddling, Wrecker enveloped Orion in a large, soft towel, creating a cosy cocoon. The baby's wide eyes surveyed his surroundings with curiosity, seemingly unfazed by the transition from the warm water to the comforting embrace of Wrecker's arms. As Wrecker skilfully navigated the aftermath of the impromptu bath, his movements were surprisingly gentle, a stark contrast to his usual brute strength. With a cloth in hand, he diligently wiped down the surfaces, occasionally exchanging playful glances and chuckles with Orion bouncing him in his arm. For once Wrecker’s mind shifted from the tension and dangers of missions to the warmth of shared moments he adores with his tiny nephew. Wrecker's willingness to take on the task of bath time showcased the unspoken bond that transcended their military roles. The makeshift water play had not only provided entertainment for Orion but had also brought an unexpected sense of joy and connection to the ship, forging memories that lingered in the air long after the last droplets had been wiped away.
Wrecker, determined to dress Orion in the clothes Tech had meticulously prepared, found himself in a comical struggle with the wiggly and enthusiastic baby. Orion's fascination with his own little toes proved to be a formidable distraction, leading to intermittent pauses in the dressing process as he attempted to nibble on his feet with adorable baby determination. Despite the challenges, Wrecker maintained a good humoured demeanour throughout, letting out hearty laughs each time Orion managed to wriggle away or snatch at his socks. The baby's infectious joy seemed to lighten the atmosphere even more, turning the simple act of getting dressed into a light-hearted memory. With uncle sometime playfully leaning over Orion, acting like he is going to bite a tiny foot, and electing loud giggles when he breath against the foot.
Alas Wrecker persisted, the process became a collaborative effort, with both baby and clone playing their parts. Eventually, after a few playful tussles and the strategic use of distractions, Orion found himself fully clothed and snug in his adorable attire. Wrecker, victorious in the dressing mission, shared a triumphant smile with the now fashionably adorned infant, realizing that sometimes, the journey of getting ready could be just as entertaining as the destination. “Now little detonator and the gentle giant can take on the galaxy right?” Wrecker picks up Orion as he speaks softly. Orion seems even smaller in his arms, and with outmost care Wrecker moves his knuckles over Orion’s cheeks. “You know, I would do anything to protect you.” “I am sure Orion is well aware we would do whatever it takes, to keep him happy” Tech mentions matter of factly as he walks over to Wrecker. “Yeah, I know.” Wrecker looks at Tech, not yet willing to hand his nephew back.

Chapter 47: The Bunk
Tech sat cross-legged in his bunk, a small area that had become a haven for father-son interactions. The dim light within the Havoc Marauder's living quarters created a cosy atmosphere, perfect for their little game. Orion, nestled against the breastfeeding pillow to provide support, gurgled happily, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
With a slight rustle, Tech's hands appeared in front of his face, momentarily hiding his features. The element of surprise was crucial for peek-a-boo's magic, which he made sure to be on point. As his hands moved away, revealing his face again, Orion's baby laughter filled the confined space, a melody that echoed the joy of the moment. Tech repeated the playful routine, each reiteration accompanied by Orion's contagious laughter. The delicate sound resonated with warmth and love, creating a serene bubble where the troubles of the outside galaxy momentarily ceased to exist. The repetitive but delightful game became a dance of connection between father and son, forging an unspoken bond that surpassed the confines of words. During the pauses between rounds, Tech marvelled at Orion's innocent expressions, trying to decipher the unspoken language of his son's babyhood. The way Orion's eyes widened with anticipation and the contagious delight in his laughter became a source of endless fascination for Tech.
As the game continued, Tech couldn't help but reflect on the tumultuous journey that had brought them to this point, the challenges, the secret meetings with Amanda, and the delicate balance they maintained to keep their connection hidden, and Orion who was clearly not planned. Yet, in these simple moments of joy, all the complexities faded away, leaving only the pure essence of fatherhood. Tech's heart swelled with love for the little being in front of him. Each giggle, each curious gaze, reinforced the profound bond they shared. The bunk, once a utilitarian space for relaxation and sleep, transformed into a haven of love, laughter, and the gentle exchange of gazes between a father and his son. Yet, in the soft glow of the bunk's light, surrounded by the laughter of an innocent child, Tech found solace in the simplicity of peek-a-boo, a timeless game that transcended the complexities of their unconventional existence. And then when Orion reached forward to grab for his father’s hands, he plumed (?) forward.
As Tech reached out to prop his adorable son up again, he stopped, watching Orion. Orion's chubby little arms flexed as he managed to lift himself onto his elbows, his eyes fixated on Tech with an adorable mix of curiosity and accomplishment. A smile tugged at Tech's lips as he observed the miniature milestone his son had just achieved. The bond between them strengthened with each shared moment, turning the mundane into a cherished memory. And Tech knows tummy time is paying off, even if Orion face planted himself with a fit of giggles again.
Tech gently propped Orion back up, offering silent encouragement. The baby’s eyes sparkled with a mixture of wonder and determination as if he understood the significance of his actions. The bunk, once a simple sleeping space, became a stage for these small victories that filled the cabin with an unspoken celebration of growth. As Tech supported Orion, the baby's round face beamed with innocence and excitement. The simple act of sitting up marked another step in Orion's journey toward independence. The bunk, witness to countless secret moments, now hosted a private spectacle of a father revelling in his son's accomplishments. Tech marvelled at Orion's resilience and eagerness to explore the world around him. The bunk transformed into a tiny kingdom where each movement, each interaction, held profound meaning. The soft glow of the bunk's light bathed the scene in warmth, casting a serene ambiance over the impromptu playdate. In this clandestine sanctuary, Tech and Orion continued their silent dialogue. The bunk, once a refuge for resting and late night rabbit holes of researching all kind of things, now cradled the simple joys of fatherhood. Tech's heart swelled with pride as Orion's eyes met his, the unspoken connection between them a language only they shared. As Tech was fascinated and proud, he couldn't help but marvel at the unexpected beauty that had blossomed from a secret.
Wrecker, passing by the bunk area with his characteristic heavy steps, heard Orion's adorable attempt at mimicking an explosion. His eyes widened, and a wide grin spread across his face. Unable to resist, he joined in the playful atmosphere. "Boom! That's right, little detonator!" Wrecker rumbled, bringing his large hands together in an exaggerated clap, adding a booming sound effect of his own. Orion's striking blue eyes sparkled with delight at the unexpected interaction, his chubby cheeks reflecting the joy radiating from the burly clone.
Tech, sharing a knowing look with Wrecker, appreciated the good-natured camaraderie. The unspoken understanding among the brothers extended to the newest member, Orion, who seemed to revel in the attention and affection showered upon him. As Wrecker continued his exaggerated sound effects, Orion clapped his tiny hands together, giggling in sheer delight mimicking his uncle as best as he can. Tech couldn't help but appreciate the unexpected turn of events. The bunk, witness to countless conversations, even if questionable at times, now served as the stage for impromptu, heart-warming scenes that showcased the genuine connection between the brothers and Orion. But what Tech fascinates and keeps him pondering is, that Orion recognises loud sounds with Wrecker.

Today I learned the hard way, that sunblocker can expire. I am a lobster now. It wasn't even open for half a year! I bought it late summer last year. Something I never do, but last summer was heavy and I just bought again... seem like I should have just bought a new one today. Mistake made, leasson learned.
