ATTENTION TAG COMMUNITY

Sorry TAG community but it looks like there is another group on Facebook that is harvesting content and actively saying that creators do not need to be credited.  However, they have said that they will credit if the artist/creator requests.  I don't know if they will comply but at least you can make a direct request.

@willow-salix also has the details and between a few of us we have identified a lot of the affected creators.   My thanks to @hodgehegposts @avengedbiologist and @olliepig for helping name the artists.  I’ll PM those affected with the details so they can take their own action.  There is a LOT on there though and we can’t work out everyone, if you have concerns please PM me and I’ll send you the FB group name.

To those in groups that harvest material please support the creator community by taking a stand.  Point out that not crediting is wrong and let these groups know it will not be tolerated.  Creators put a lot of time and love into their work - many are happy to have it shared as long as they are properly credited.  Those who are complicit risk being outed and blocked by the community.

In Regards to Recent Events

It has come to my attention that the individual I chose to help me run this Tumblr has been taking blogs from fellow witches. They either failed to credit or failed to state in any way that the content was not their own or that of a member of our community.

I have removed the individual from their position as Tumblr Coordinator for the community, and I have removed all posts created by them. 

I apologies to all of you for what has happened, and I will do my utmost to make sure that it does not happen again.

If anyone comes across a post on this account that they believe to have been stolen (I may have missed one somewhere), please don’t hesitate to message me and let me know!

Uncredited work - context

I decided to make my last posts about the uncredited work, about thehauntingnarrator and other people who infringed my copyright, private. I realize that I came off as bitchy, as childish in the way I spoke, and that's why I don't want them on my blog anymore.  I don't regret speaking up, and I don't regret calling that girl on it. The reason I don't regret it, and the reason I am writing this post now, is because it was brought to my attention that I showed of an unkind side that day, while not showing the work that's behind it, or what took me to that place.  Every day, I get messages with people who have my work uncredited on their website. Every day, I sent these people private messages — a standardized message I have ready to send — asking them politely to remove my work from their blog or to post it again with credit. I send three, sometimes four or five a day, on tumblr or on blogs, websites. I do it without expecting much in return — for every handful I send I get maybe one reply telling me they'll do it. All the other times, people ignore it and my photos stay there, uncredited.  Every time someone posts my picture without credit, my work loses value. It will sell for much less by the agency that represents me, it'll give me less revenue. And to know that some people make money off my work, gain popularity and fame over my work — when I'm counting the pennies to make ends meet, is unbelievably frustrating.  What I mean to say with this post is that the rants that I posted didn't come out of nowhere. I didn't wake up one morning and decide to yell at the world over having my work taken from me. Those rants came from the exhaustion of having to claim my work as my own every day. Why did this girl get it? Because I saw some work belonging to my friends there, as well, and I exploded. Again, I am not apologizing for calling her on it — but I do regret being unkind, when that's not how I normally act.  Thank you for reading.
