He was all set to make it a reality, too; his feet had turned, two paces were stepped! But regretfully, something lodged into his brain at the last second... His expression fell flat, and turning back, he looked Izaya up and down.

"... ... You're an information broker." He muses cautiously. "You know things." Probably not this, though... ' But what if? '

And with a cheery smile to boot. Willow's eyes narrow, abandoning the comically blank expression she'd been wearing the majority of their conversation. He's prodding at something, palming her otherwise numb mental landscape for sore spots. Smug, wearing an uncanny grin that might have frightened her if she hadn't already been through so much this year.

"I'll be fine." He likes to piss people off, it entertains him - to give him a reaction would mean playing into it. Her expression quickly flattens out to neutral. "You should watch yourself, though."

She focuses her attention on the centre of his forehead. Blank, still, as she worms her way into his mind: If she wanted to, she could make me take my knife and shove it into my eye.

Then: I should check to see if it's still in my pocket.

Rei thought she was getting better. Thought that maybe the nightmares have gone away for good this time. It's been awhile since she last had one. Wishful thinking, huh?

This particular nightmare has shaken Rei up quite a bit. The gruesome images still fresh in her mind. It's to the point where she's gone to someone like Izaya for some sort of comfort. His sickly sweet words would have made her more uncomfortable than anything if she had only paid closer attention to them.

"Thanks..." Rei rests her chin against her knees, hugging her legs a little tighter. Somehow she finds herself appreciating his agreement to sit and stay with her. If she didn't know any better, she'd say that he's kind.

@undeific spoke: alone at last. with nobody else in the clubhouse, he can make a move. izaya sits in hawk's usual chair, feet kicked up on the table. he grins and whistles at the dog, twirling a shock collar around and around his finger. "c'mere boy! i've got a present for you!"

There really is no introduction needed. Adríel knows exactly who he is before he even speaks. His audacity to show up here at all is a dead giveaway — but of course he’s smart enough to come when they can be alone. Less of a threat? Less distraction? The rage is instinctual, the anger making his fists ball at his sides. But with a breath it’s controlled — he crosses his arms over his chest and leans against the doorframe. A couple of years ago, Addy would have lunged teeth first. He now just left out a breath, slow and measured. Unreadable. Or at least, that's what he hopes.
