Think about being trapped, unable to move… by either something falling on the Whumpee or being stabbed/impaled. Think about the Whumpee somewhere and just something falling and trapping the Whumpee under it, pinning their leg so they can’t move, can’t get out and has to hope someone finds them. Maybe they’re claustrophobic and being in the small space unable to move causes them to panic.
Think about the panic and relief as the Whumpee can hear people coming to get them. But as the rescuers get closer the rubble shifts and the Whumpee cries out. The rescuers can hear the Whumpee and have to work quickly despite their cries. They know if they linger it will just hurt the Whumpee more in the long run.
Think about the Whumpee being impaled. Maybe in a fight. The Whumper gets the upper hand and stabs a knife through their hand or shoulder, pinning them in place. The Whumpee trying desperately to hold back their pained noises but the Whumper, being an who they are, shifts the knife so the Whumpee hisses out in pain. Bonus points if the Whumper is still taunting messing with them as they’re pinned.
Think about the Whumper using another knife to threaten the Whumpee, pinned and in pain. They threaten to stab it through their other shoulder/hand to stop them from moving. They make little cuts on the Whumpee to see them jerk and flinch to watch the knife tug and pull but not release them from the wall.
