“Sir, [Hero] is escaping!”
“Surround the Northwest exit and be ready to send in reinforcements. If anyone fucks up, I’ll have their head.”
The lackeys shouted an affirmative and rushed off to catch [Hero]. [Henchman] was halted from following.
“As for you,” villain stated, “we need to talk.”
The henchman complied, knowing full well this would end poorly. Maybe it’ll be quick and painless, [Henchman] thought. Their optimistic thoughts were immediately stuck down.
“[Henchman], you don’t think I wouldn’t notice that kind of incompetence?” [Villain] snapped.
“I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t mean to-”
“I don’t want your apologies. I want you to tell me the goddamned truth!”
Henchman looked away, as if it would lessen the guilt building up in their mind.
“I didn’t need you here, you know?” the villain said.
The henchman looked down, begging themselves to keep it together.
The henchman could’ve sworn they’d misheard [Villain].
“Understand that the reason you’re here is because I requested it. I could have easily taken in anyone else,” [Villain] looked away. “...And in hindsight, I should have.”
[Villain] grabbed [Henchman] by the collar. The henchman hovered above the floor, feeling smaller and weaker than ever before. The villain disheveled and
“Do you think I’m stupid? That I wouldn’t find out?”
“What-what are you talking about!?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about, [Sidekick].”
They were absolutely fucked.
