Through The Years
NO WARNINGS, Read More is just because the post is long.
Eradic at ~100 years, basically a baby amoeba.
Freshly thrown into the wild by his predecessor/parent, Era is still full of joy and whimsy. LOVES infodumping. Very proud of you for surviving such a challenging world, and very proud of his baby brother for being the cutest thing ever.
Both brothers are loved for being cute, but is a little freaky at times (will eat live rats whole and chase people to bite at their ankles). At least Decim spends 90% of his time sleeping, and Era spends 10% of his time carrying Decim- enough time with his hands full that folks can recover from being nipped at.
Now, fast forward 400 years or so...
Eradic in his ~400-500s, basically an older child, but still a child.
Eradic has turned into a workaholic, always serious, always telling everyone he's 'basically a mature adult' and that everyone is stupid for not listening to him. He occasionally makes attempts to be polite, but his temper gets the best of him. He is not liked by the townsfolk for very frequently crashing meetings and trying to make things go his way.
Additionally, he becomes known as the 'Devourer of Dreams', and everyone avoids him because he can eat their happiness. Era starts to avoid eating, tying tighter and thicker sashes around his torso to distract himself from hunger.
Decim is well-loved by the town for being a 'Devourer of Nightmares', since he will very happily eat their sorrows. He's still pretty weird, kind of like that kid in class who will bark at you for fun. He doesn't actually like the townsfolk much, but Eradic encourages him to stay on their good side so he could gain access to food easier.
Fast forward just a little bit... maybe several decades...
Eradic is in his ~500-600s. Not much older at all.
He stopped going to town unless strictly necessary. Isolated himself in his birth cave and patrols the wilderness for anyone who does not listen to him about staying away from the forest.
Occasionally fights in conflicts, if only to end them early to prevent mass deaths.
Very snappy, very arrogant. He tells everyone they are below him and that he can kill them in an instant should they cross him, and stays true to this threat... for the most part.
He is very rarely seen eating, but this time, it isn't so that he can fit in with society. He can't accept failure.
And for reading all the way to the end... a little glimpse beyond that arrogance...
"I'm a failure of a brother... baba was right- I- I hesitated too long... I-if I were- If I just- if I killed them then, none of this would happen..."
"If I just stopped being so weak and stupid, nothing bad would've happened..."

What's usually the process in god-killing & how long does it usually take for you?

A 'god' as you call them are just another type of prey for us. If you put it in comparison with how animals hunt, it is not much different.
A long hunt is entertaining, once in a while... stalking them, giving them reasons to look over their shoulder one too many times. But the thrill comes with risk and a great cost of time, so I try and keep things simple.
Although if we are extending the definition of gods to include non-humanoid ones, I do enjoy apples from a certain tree. My predecessor used to bring me them when I was too young to hunt.
For the entire month of December, Blank Box will be semi-open for the public! It is an archival server, so there are no general socializing channels- just content and AU commentary channels. So please keep that in mind!
This doubles as a test (for this approach to turning the server semi-public) as well. Depending on how this goes, those that join will either be allowed to stay or kicked in January.
