ok just up tonight thinking about fablehaven meta/actual lore and how the source is creation and the void is destruction and also how the fairy kingdom is a space of purity (at least with the current fairy queen in charge) and the underkingdom is a place of corruption and how the under kings crown corrupts all it touches (ie melding all its selves with its new wearers, the threat of corrupting even the fairy kingdom, the corrupting of the wraith’s desires) and how the unicorns are creatures of purity whilst the fairies are creatures of creation and how the demons are the real creatures of destruction for all the under kingdom’s corruption.

all this to say that the source/void dichotomy is interesting as hell because its a four-chotomy really. the source is really an element of the fairys’ but it’s under the control of the unicorns who are more concerned with purity than creation, really. the void is the power of both the underkingdom and the demons, really. destruction and corruption aren’t the same but they inhabit the same road. and i suppose at the end of it is the void. i suppose that’s why shadowcharmers need the patronage are created through the patronage of a demon, gaining a foothold with the underkingdom.

i don’t know just rambling tonight. im sure some of this has already been said.
