It’s so freakin’ amazing. Keep watching all the way through. The second season is when everything starts making sense and gets so much better

It’s really fab. Like sakuya123 said, it really is a great story, once you get past all of the murderous adolescents stuff.

It is a very beautiful and emotional anime when you understand the truth of it all. Don’t forget to watch the sequel series to find out!

And i totally agree with all of you ahaha this anime is great so far! (I'm definitely not gunna say it's great besides all that extreme violence and sadism because i'm sure it wouldn't be the same without all that) and i'm only up to episode 20 but omg nothing makes sense? like why are all alive? surely they'd be dead lol especially Mion an Rena and keiichi and most of the characters in this show that have a line ^_^

i guess i will have to watch the second season to understand this, which believe me is making me more excited (even though surely it shouldn't) and the atmosphere of this anime is great! omg i haven't felt this insecure(is that the right word??) since like watching Shiki or Shin Sekai Yori i have a weakness for anime that have that fort of dark backdrop and sort of that kind of feel? (if you've watched the above mentioned anime-especially Shiki-you'll immediately probably know what i mean lol)

So, I'm in LOVE with Higurashi. It's my biggest obsession. But although I've only watched the anime series of Umineko (and I do plan on reading the VS), I feel that the opening for Umineko is so much more engaging and epic than Higurashi's openings.

Well, yes. The OP for Umineko IS more engaging... but that may be due to the times. Higurashi is still years older and between the two, it's pretty clear that Umineko is a vast improvement from Higurashi in more ways than one. Talking about the art, strictly, of course. My comment has nothing to do with the story.
