Okay so when you're building with cob you can take any piece of glass and build it into the wall (build cob around it) and have a window and I've seen people build in jars into walls as a way of introducing more light, and I actually have a few very large jars I could use for precisely that, but I also have an idea. You know how beautiful light is when reflected thru water? The magical, soothing and calming quality it has? I want that. What if, I took few of those big jars, filled them up with water, then built them in leaving a tiny opening that would allow me to change and update the water? (My original idea was to sterilize and seal up the entire thing but then I remembered, it would freeze in winter and possibly crack my jar and I want to avoid that.) I could also add some translucent coloring to the jar for special occasions, and have blue or green or aquamarine light falling into my living room, I could even figure out just where it hits the wall most often and paint an underwater mermaid scene there. Imagine living like that! Having underwater light play and reflect out of walls of your home, being soothed by it whenever you feel stressed. Like there's an aquarium going on inside of your walls. I have to try that. I like watching big jars filled with water even when they're just standing on the balcony, keeping water for plants. I think I would adore having them in my walls.
