Being diagnosed with ADHD at 28, it's so strange.
Like I'm at the end of a major degree (last exam and thesis left) with crippling depression and a severe anxiety disorder in burn-out since two years now, while being able to get a scholarship for three years straight.
And only now, I'm being told told that I'm not actually more stupid than anyone else like I always thought. I was just at a disadvantage from the star. Only no one saw it.
I was always told that I was so strong and so capable because I got where I am despite all, and I always felt like a liar, like an empostor, because I never felt strong.
Now, finally, my struggles were seen and validated for the first time. And I can finally admit to myself: "I was failed by society and traumatised by it, I can be mad at it.
I can be mad that most of what I lived through could be prevented if just an adult had given me attention at the right time.
I can be mad, and it's my right to be it."
