So at one point I was an English major.
Although I told my parents it was a spur-of-the-moment fling, I actually like reading and writing and care a lot about grammar. Currently, my major is Computer Science, and in many of my classes, the grammar is not “proper.” I learned to deal with it a while ago. For many of my professors, English is not their first language, but I’m fairly sure that all of my classmates can understand English even if a few verb tenses are mixed up.
It irks me that one student has corrected interrupted one of our professors twice in the last two classes for something really minor, and even felt the need to explain it to the professor in his native language. I’m like “This is not an English class! We’re learning computer science. We know what he means, and it’s not even important please just chill.”
So yes, if you’re on a computer science track, and you’re focusing on the seemingly made-up words the book throws at you, you will have pulled out all your hair before you graduate.
RANT
One thing that bothers me is when I go back to a friend's social media account to see how they're doing and they COMPLETELY changed physically & mentally. Especially if you see them post things about drugs & alcohol...they had a great life ahead of them but now that great life might not happen because of drugs or alcohol. This pains me so much to find out that such nice individuals steep that low and mess up their life..

And this I #believe: that the #free, #exploring mind of the individual #human is the most valuable thing in the #world. And this I would #fight for: the #freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, #undirected. And this I must fight against: any #idea, #religion, or #government which limits or destroys the individual. This is what I am and what I am about. John Steinbeck

Taking portraits without directing the subject, can this give us insight into the mask they put on? Can we see how they feel about their work?
