Maybe she belongs here. Maybe that’s why she feels as if she belongs nowhere. But most people fear this great city of mine. They fear being swallowed up whole by this city; spit out and left to run back to whatever pond they came from. 

I get it. 

One cannot chase love. It eludes us when we do it. It evades us around any bend, disappearing into the shadows and sunlight. 

I won’t say that I don’t want her. I want most of the things that I see, don’t you? 

Maybe she belongs right where she is. In that mental prison that won’t let her be free. Won’t give her spirit the chance to truly fly. 

This is not a healing post. This is not a healing city. You come here to get broken because you are strong enough to know that being broken means getting fixed.
