Last Friday I spent 3 hours giving myself a “unicorns and rainbows” themed manicure and Ken a non-themed manicure with unicorns and space stuff and a skeleton cat and some cool geometric patterns while he watched sci-fi. It was a fun way for us to be together while enjoying our different interests.

Then yesterday a big package arrived and Ken got all smiley and told me to open it. He got a framed print of the poster and ticket from the first concert we went to together, which I think we now both consider our first date although neither of us was sure if it was a date until two dates later, ha!

I cried when I opened it. In our home we have his stuff, we have my stuff, we have stuff we’ve acquired while together, and we do have some sentimental stuff like the actual tickets from this concert and others, but this is different. He sought out a way to memorialize a sentimental “us” moment in a special piece of decor to hang - definitely different than just pinning another plane ticket to the fridge after a trip together. It caught me off guard and I did not expect to cry but here we are.

Then I got it in my head that I wanted to make scallops so I got some asparagus to have as a side and made a pasta side too. Y’all. The pasta was SO GOOD. It’s “one pot garlic parmesan pasta” from Damn Delicous and she’s right: it IS damn delicious. And you cook the pasta in the sauce so you don’t have to wash a separate pot or colander. Highly recommend!!

Normally these would be 110% too girly for my taste (on me) but I did these for the Holo Taco Unicorn Nail Art contest/challenge and I am so pleased with how these turned out
