The theme of hope:

Despite all the death and destruction, hope and refusing to give up has actually been a recurring theme throughout Transformers: Unicron.

Take the GI Joe short, Scarlett, Roadblock and several other gi joes being trapped in what seems like a hopeless situation, boxed in by Maximals who are also harbingers of an apocalypse.

But they refuse to accept their fate lying down all the same and are determined to keep fighting:

Take the Mistress of Flame, moments from a very gruesome and very inevitable death herself, using those last moments to assure her people not to give in to despair as in her own words: “things will get better”

Take the Solstar Order, their entire planet having just been devoured by Unicron, who they’ve tried and failed utterly to ward off already, with very few space knights even remaining as a result.

But even so, are they just going to give up and roll over?

No. Every single one of them are going to take a stand and keep trying to fight against evil.

Transformers: Unicron - an incredibly dark comic where beloved characters as well as entire planets fall to an insatiable, evil planet.

So keep on hoping and keep on fighting as long as it does.

Good to know that Velocitron and Divison have at least some survivors.

Presumably those who were on Cybertron at the time of Unicron’s attacks.

I also have to side with the calling out of Starscream here though, as much as I do want him to be able to get redemption and help, on his comments about the Council of Worlds. 

They were all fully entitled to those their patience with him there. 

“How dare you!” Indeed.

It also remains so that, even if the planets themselves are gone, they and their cultures survive through their refugees.

Refugees who very much do deserve to continue to be represented via the Council of Worlds delegates.

"He’ll try to poison our Elonian friends against me”

I’m actually surprised here, that being a concern.

As it turns out, Starscream is not just addressing the mechanical colonists and refugees to join him and the Decepticons, but also the organic members of the colonies too.

I guess in that respect at least the Decepticons are actually moving closer back to their original “everyone is equal” belief, if he’s not discriminating with his recruitment.
