I don't understand how the talisman in Transformers: Unicron worked? Exactly how or why did it destroy Starscream in a beam of light? Like I can see what's going on here, but WHAT is going on here?? I need answers!!

Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, Dirge, Omega Supreme, Blurr, Elita One, Cosmos, Sky-Byte, Laserbeak, and Buzzsaw.
noticed any pattern here? yep, almost all of them didn’t die in the 86′ movie, or made appear at all! heck, even Wheeljack survived in the comic according to TFWIKI. better yet, the 86′ movie casualties, Prowl, Ironhide, and Optimus Prime, etc, still function, for now.
well, i guess that’s good news for Starscream...but bad news for Soundwave and Bumblebee...
...probably.
