All sports are so incredibly important for all kids. Especially even more so now! I truly believe sports and the arts saves lives and keeps kids mentally strong, focused and out of trouble. I thank god my big girl got into a Division 1 College that has not stopped training their kids even during these lockdowns. They are top 10 in the US and I have a funny feeling their waterpolo kids will be very ready to play once they decide to finally open up this world and compete! My goalie girl Ema works hard and has the discipline to train everyday and now plays with some of the best players in the world! It was Ema’s big day today. She signed her letter of intent at her highschool with the college she wanted to go to “The University of The Pacific”. They are top 10 in the country for girls waterpolo so she will be playing against the best colleges in the US. This will be such a great experience for her. Athletes are treated so well at this level in college. She has worked so hard at both her schooling and waterpolo. I am so grateful to all her great coaches and teachers that have helped guide her throughout her life. UOP really wanted her as their goalie and because she has great grades they were able to help “a lot, lot, lot!” It is a great business school! I am so grateful she listened to her mom. Yesterday I has to drive Ema 6 hours north for her first official College visit to @universityofthepacific. The waterpolo coaches invited her up to see their college as they are looking for a good goalie. This University has very serious college waterpolo programs for both the boys and girls. They had 3 International Olympic players just leave to get ready for next years Olympic Games. The Boys team just beat Stanford last weekend so are currently ranking 3rd in the Nation. (That alone impressed me.) I saw the guys practice yesterday they are are very good. So they must have great coaches! The Girls waterpolo team placed 6th and 8th in the nation last two years so are really good too and are getting ready for 2020. It’s certainly high level waterpolo. Ema is staying up there until Saturday with the waterpolo kids and checking the school out. Mom “I love it” she said this morning on the phone! It was built in 1851 and is a very “Ivy League” looking school. It is is very beautiful and well looked after. They slid take great care of their athletes and it has a world class business school. I think that is what Ema is interested in majoring in. I love the schools’ mottos “Find your purpose” and “Help others in need”. Just like The Joy House! “Find your joy” and “Give Joy, Get Joy!” I see everything as a sign! I told Ema if you learn to live like that then some how you will always find ways to be happy. Just focus and work hard everything will always, somehow work out. It always does just keep the faith. This would be a very “happy place” to learn and grow for my girl for the next four years.
