Miranda’s “ghost” was actually Flint’s hallucination/dream, which means she was Flint’s subsconsciousness telling him things. His subconsciousness was basically telling him to look for a connection in his life, which would actually have been Silver.

@uniwolfwerecorn Yes I am aware of all of that. But I don’t see why that has to cancel out the fact that her words in retrospect could mean Thomas. Like you said it was his dream and his subconscious. Dreams are fucked up, okay? Perhaps you could think of it in terms of James never truly accepting Thomas’s death; I don’t know. I already said I know that Miranda’s words was specifically about Silver at that time. Lots of things can be read differently in retrospect.

Of course she isn’t dead. How do you think Eleanor got out of that house? Eleanor woke her, Madi dragged them out, and Eleanor told her to get the fuck away.

Well I wouldn’t mind that outcome. But why did Eleanor not tell Flint then? Like she said she tried to save/protect her. She could have easily said I protected/saved her.

But as we had so many people coming back, I assume maybe Madi woke up before the fire overtook and just left the house. I at least hope so.

What reason did he have to expect that the pardon didn’t extend to him?

If he only went back for a pardon, it wouldn’t be an issue. But Jack went back because he refused to go live out his life with Anne and the treasure under an alias. He literally just wanted to keep his name.

All that Theon hate makes me think a lot about empathy and what it means, and how it's so easy for some people to switch their empathy on and off, and that when they do the latter, human beings (or fictional characters) are suddenly deserving of the most horrid experiences. It's such an archaic concept of morality. And it worries me that so few people are capable of seeing that.

^^^ no but like... selective empathy is.... I just, I don’t know how these people act irl but usually at most you should have *cognitive* empathy if you don’t have emotional empathy and like, these people obviously lack the emotional (which... let’s say that I have it fairly high in a good number of cases so it just looks even worse to me lol) but like... at least use the cognitive one? I mean, I didn’t shed any tears over cersei suffering but I didn’t like the walk of shame and I didn’t think she deserved it because I have cognitive empathy enough to realize that no one deserves that, can people get the memo? because if they think that ptsd is a joke with fictional characters idk how they deal with it irl, but then again last week someone was posting about purposefully triggering war veterans on this small alcove of little sociopaths in training so what do I know? anyway, yeah, welcome to the old testament indeed

Somehow I find it a little weird to humanize a kitten, implying it could feel and think like a human being, when there’s a real person saying these words, who is completely ignored. “Little Balerion is still living in the castle” - so is Varys.

What’s the purpose of telling the people who like this little tidbit of imagination that you don’t? What do you gain from it other than telling us: “But you shouldn’t like/enjoy this because there is something better that you could do instead, namely empathise with Varys.” Plus, who says people who reblog this don’t empathise with Varys? Just because this little post doesn’t have him as its focus?
