excuseeeee me..this is a NO WORK ZONE. only PAY ATTENTION TO PRIM zone!!
"Today I tried very hard to work. I read all I had written six months ago about women. It does not look bad. But it is very difficult to begin to write again. Just now I don't see exactly why anyone should ever write anything. The world just as it is is so big; it needs no words. "
-Simone de Beauvoir in a letter (dated 24th of May 1947) to Nelson Algren
Seeing icons struggle with working can feel so reassuring sometimes
Mental me: You know... I'm in a real inspired mood, maybe i'll write on my laptop a bit-
Physical me: (already typing writeblr in to tumblr search bar)
I Miss Neopets
Well not specifically Neopets (HAH, click baited you), but a time when I used to be able to dive into something unproductive with full attention without any thoughts of ~ the future ~ or DOOooM that would happen if I wasn't being productive at every moment. What sucks about growing up is you're constantly thinking about what's next. Always thinking about where you'll be in the future as a consequence of what you're doing currently. Worrying about the small mistakes you've made and how those mistakes could totally DeStrOY your dreams!!! Damn you, frontal lobe!! I've made a million and one mistakes, yet I'm still enroute to my ~ dream ~. It's quite silly to worry about reaching your ~ dream ~ because it's a moving target - it changes as you learn, experience and grow. Last year, my long-term goals were a lot different than they are right now. Next year, they'll probably have evolved into something else. Don't get me wrong, I think having long-term goals and dreams are important and essential to living a happy life, but there's no need to stress out about each mistake since there's a hundred ways to accomplish something, so you'll get there eventually. In conclusion, making mistakes is 100% ok and it's also ok to commit yourself fully to something unproductive once in a while. Maybe if being unproductive is your goal, then great! Commit to it! Wait, commiting to being unproductive would mean being productive towards your goal of unproductivity... 🤔. Anyway, this has been quite the brain dump. Good night!
