Monday, March 22, 2021 // study with me

I took this week off of work to study for my upcoming Conduct and Practices Handbook exam. I've come close to passing twice now but have fallen short by about 4-5 questions both times. This is the last time I'll be able to write this exam before having to purchase the whole course again so fingers crossed I'll be able to pass this time! Passing would mean an increase in my pay as well as my securities license.

While I'll be studying urban and regional planning this fall (whether in college or university) and I'll be transitioning to a career in this field within the next 2-3 years, I want to be able to financially support myself through school. I don't want to take out additional student loans so I'll be relying primarily on my own savings and whatever grants, bursaries, and scholarships I can get my hands on. If you know of any scholarships open to Canadian residents age 25+ please send me a DM!

HI EVERYONE I’M BACK AND FINALLY GOING TO INTRODUCE MYSELF.

So, I started going to UofT for life sciences back in 2013. I went to university at 17 and literally knew nothing about anything. But boy, was life about to hit me right in the face.

University was hard, like, excruciatingly difficult. I decided to go into ecology & evolutionary biology and never really found anything else I was really passionate about. So here I am, five years later, two research courses under my belt, I’ve dug up dinosaurs in Alberta, and I’ve nearly fallen to my death in the middle of the cloud forests of Ecuador. I’m still in school but I’m not working full time and I’ve put graduating on the back burner for now.

I’m nearly 23 now and I can confidently say that I’m more content with the way things are going now that the biggest part of my life is no longer school.
