Lucka 3: Uppland

🇸🇪- Idag ska vi röra oss nordöst emot Upplands anrika vidder och sjöar, där vi hittar i landskapets nordligaste hörn hittar orten Älvkarleby, och en legend inom spelmannavärlden, nämligen Carl "Byss-Calle" Ersson Bössa (1783-1847), en nyckelharpist vars låtar ofta kan höras framförda utav både svenska och utländska folkmusiker. Detta är en Slängpolska efter honom, dessvärre finns det väldigt många fler, så jag bifogar länken till folkwikis sida av Uppländska verk, så får den sammanbitne hitta rätt bland alla noter om hen vill :)

🇬🇧- Today we move northeast towards Uppland, with history rooted deep in its plains and lakes, and in the northern corner, we find the small town of Älvkarleby, and a legend within swedish folk music, Carl "Byss-Calle" Ersson Bössa (1783-1847), a nyckelharpa-player whose pieces often can be heard performed by both Swedish and International folk musicians. This piece is a Slängpolska, notated after him, there is though, a whole lot more of those after him, so I'll put a link to folkwikis page on Uppland, and the determined person who'd like to give it a try can look up the sheet music if they'd so please :)

Uppland Runestones U135 & U136

U135: :ikifastur auk austain auk suain litu raisa staina þasa at austain faþur sin auk bru þasa karþu auk hauk þana: U136: :astriþr la(t) raisa staina þasa [a]t austain buta sin is suti iursalir auk antaþis ub i kirkum:

-- Ingifastr ok Øystæinn ok Svæinn letu ræisa stæina þessa at Øystæinn faður sinn, ok bro þessa gærðu ok haug þenna.

-- Æstriðr let ræisa stæina þessa at Øystæinn, bonda sinn, es sotti Jorsalir ok ændaðis upp i Grikkium.

Ingifastr and Eysteinn and Sveinn had these stones raised in memory of Eysteinn, their father, and made this bridge and this mound.

Ástríðr had these stones raised in memory of Eysteinn, her husbandman, who went to Jerusalem and met his end in Greece.
