URANUS-PLUTO-USA

Although we do not have a definitive horoscope of the United States (if we had one, there wouldn't be nearly a dozen of them), the country resonates to July 4th, 1776. Therefore, regardless of what the real horoscope is, transiting Uranus is squaring Pluto. When Uranus and Pluto team up, the general flavor is one of revolution, over-turning things and tearing things down in order to rebuild anew. When the two are conjunct, square, or in opposition in the heavens, there is usually unrest in the world and it is quite often socially related. The present Uranus-Pluto cycle started in 1965. Lasting for more than a year, it was a time of very serious social unrest in the country that, sadly, is much like what has been seen since this present President took Office, especially when you see today's display of racism in Charlottsville, Virginia. The present square between them started in 2012 and ended in 2015, running into the Uranus transit to the USA Pluto. The present period that the country is in will not begin to subside until the summer of 2018. I anticipate that it will worsen if Trump's real life reality in the near future reflects the reality suggested by astrology. It's so sad.

URANUS-PLUTO-MICHAEL BROWN

I had deja vu as I looked at all the protests on TV all over the country in support of Michael Brown's family and in protest of the verdict that, at least temporarily, frees his shooter from indictment. I say temporarily because it has become a federal case so the period may not yet be on the end of the sentence. The protests are focused on Brown's murder but for sure, the overall tenor of that which is being protested is a broader concept. It is about police injustice and how minorities are treated by the police and subsequently frequently get hosed in the judicial system unless they are pretty wealthy. The deja vu I had tonight reflected back to the 1960's. I was between 6 and 16 during that decade and a lot happened. Both Kennedy brothers were killed. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. were killed. All four people stood for good. That includes Malcolm X who started out thinking that hatred and force was the way to go but later found out that the man he dedicated his idealism to had issues. One of the heavenly signatures that are often reflected on our planet happens when Uranus and Pluto are in conjunction, square, or opposition. Such was the case in the aforementioned 60's. It was a time of great social unrest, especially for Black people in America. Uranus and Pluto are now square and we can see the further development of that seed of social unrest from the sixties. Trayvon Martin's death got the engine started. There were other police homicides after him and now the Michael Brown incident has attracted international attention. Many astrologers say many things about Pluto that can get you off track. In my work, I try to keep things simple. I teach that Pluto has a Tsunami effect. It acts in extremes. The planet being contact by Pluto is given the potential of its most extreme manifestation. Uranus symbolizes individuation, new things, marching to the beat of a different drummer, questioning authority. That's the general flavor of Uranus. So, the contact that it receives from Pluto puts all of that in its highest gear. We are at a point where, socially speaking, there is an unwillingness to continue as things are. People are ready to fight for it as they did in the 60's. The basic culprit is racism. There is a lot of hard work to do in that area. Where many thought that the election of President Obama said a lot, and it did, it doesn't dismiss the reality that there are severe problems. I've even seen Obama suffer racism. He was in a line in a foreign country to greet a congregation of their leaders. He stuck his hand out to shake and was ignored. Disrespect! The Uranus-Pluto combination wants to turn over and eradicate the status quo to create new conditions for development. I have my Sun at the midpoint of Uranus/Pluto and believe me, my very essence is very much about the new, especially in astrology. Uranus-Pluto! Time for change!
