Married to the Alien Cowboy by Ursa Dax

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a fun time and a great start to the series. The world building was simple and easy. Which is something I greatly appreciate. The description of everything was clear and easy to picture, and I could easily picture the aliens.

Cherry is on the run after missing a payment with a mob boss and then bashing the head of the guy sent to collect the debt. She sees an advertisement for a marriage program and grasps on to it for her escape. But things continue to not go her way when she has to leave for the new planet earlier than expected, leaving miscommunications and a learning curve with her brand new husband.

Cherry and Silar were so cute, and it was fun to see them learn more about each other. And learn to communicate with one another. And Cherry was just always happy and positive despite all that she had been through and that really takes a special kind of person. I also loved that she was just there for Silar even after learning the truth about why he was there.

Silar was so funny, not in a haha happy funny, but kind of a sad funny. It sucked that he was sent to the Colony as a young kid for just protecting his home and his mom. And how it shaped him into adulthood, but I am happy that he opened up to Cherry and that she showed him that his protective nature was not a bad thing.

They were just so cute and I can’t wait to continue on with the series. 👽❤️

Ok. Just finished book 2 of Cowboy Colony Mail Order Brides, and...

I love it.

Wrangled by the Alien Rancher had now officially put this series on my top 10.

MDNI, spoilers, etc.

Story: 8/10. Still some things to work out, but well developed.

World building: 9/10. We learn more about the other terran colony! \o/

Characters: 10/10. Fallon is a sweetheart and Darcy is so traumatised... Also, since now they're not as isolated, especially on the beginning, we can see them taking with other people and I just love it.

Spice: 4/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, for the same reason as the previous book.

Darcy is running away from her severe NPD mother who trained her all her life to be a "perfect bride", only for the fiance her mother chose to be a misogynistic prick. So, she joined the mail order bride program, and found out that her husband doesn't give a damn about any of that.

Fallon just wants some company and someone to take care of! His innocence is almost child like (tbh, they have been on that gods forsaken world since a very young age, and haven't had much contact with the outside world). And he has a puppy! He's my precious baby boy, and no one's allowed to hurry him.

I don't care that we still have more books coming out. They're officially my favourite couple.

Also, I could never be one of those girls, as the moment they said anything I'd be like...

Because it's just so cute!

Anyway, an overall 9/10. Great comedy, heavy feels, I can't wait for the next book on the series.

Book Review - Alien Tyrant (Fated Mates of the Sea Sand Warlords #1) by Ursa Dax

“If you should flee, no matter where you run, I will always follow.” CECE I thought getting a linguistics degree would land me a decent job, not get me shipped off to an alien planet ruled by barbarian warlords with tails. But that’s exactly what happens when my own government kidnaps me, along with a bunch of other women, and drops us on a brutal desert planet in the name of research. But the mission goes wrong. Because of course it does. Soon enough I’m separated from the other humans and stuck with a seven-foot-tall alien warlord who will not leave my side. He doesn’t speak English, but his dark eyes and massive body speak volumes. I need him to survive and find my friends. But am I willing to give him what he wants when what he wants... is me? BUROUDEI When I saw the face of my future fated mate in the sacred Lavrika pools, she was unlike anything I'd ever seen. I thought that fate was wrong, or that maybe I'd gone mad. But then when she falls from the sky, crashing into my desert, my fate becomes my reality. She is small, and pale, and fights me every chance she gets. But everything in me calls to everything in her, and she represents the salvation of my tribe. She is mine. I will destroy anyone who tries to take her from me. But what if the one who tries to take her from me... is her?

I can see why this is recommended for fans of Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon, since it shares a similar premise but with a different twist, different types of aliens, and a new environment. It’s not bad, but it’s missing some of the components that make the IPB series so enjoyable.

Maybe part of it is that I struggle to find likable female leads with real depth. My favorites tend to be sensible women who think things through. For a moment, I thought we were going to get a capable one after learning that Cece is a linguistics PhD student. However, her specialty is subtitles for pop culture TV and movies, so she spends most of her time watching anime. I thought that was cool and hoped she’d be the type to think outside the box.

I was excited to see her preparing for the mission by trying to learn some of the aliens’ language. I pictured her doing it the old-fashioned way: carrying a small notebook filled with words and drawings to figure things out faster and communicate more effectively. It also could have been a great way for her to bond with Buroudei. But we didn’t get that. Instead, the story relied on another shortcut method for the characters to communicate, and surprisingly, it wasn’t through a translator device this time, since the natives aren’t technologically advanced.

Maybe I’m being a little hard on this, but at this point, I’m definitely feeling some fatigue from reading too much of the same stuff in this genre.

I read @ursadaxauthor new book Alien Champion the other night. So I thought I’d do a little doodle of the MMC, Dalk. He got his first human Valentine and it was adorable. Ursa’s Sea Sands series is one of my faves. Def check them out!

Book 5 Fated Mates of the Sea Sand Warlords.

The one I’ve been waiting for!

Been wanting to read this since he showed up in book 3, this is definitely one of my favorites in the series right up there with the book 2.

From a plot standpoint it brings in the fact that the humans are finally going to show back up on the planet and possibly nuke everyone and it kicks into gear the need for all the tribes to ally with each other so that they can survive, it also brings in some new blood for the women to romance.

I loved Zoey she’s a French Canadian engineer who hid in their spaceship eating nothing but Cheetos and whatever else they had she’s adorable.

Kor is the big strong and silent type that is secretly a total softy inside but could still absolutely murder everybody. I everything about the romance was great I love the build up how they interacted which other all the little moments they had I mean yeah I guess Zoey was being a realistically scared of him and Kor had no idea how to romance her. but when they did finally get together it was the best. Everything with Kors heritage and how they’re going to bring in the rest of his species makes me very excited for the next two books that will have the Bitter Sea people in them, sadly after this one there’s three books before we get to see more of them in a romance role.

There’s some size kink mixed in in this one as well.
