The pet-owner au part where kabuto isn’t a pet owner anymore cause it’s been at least 15 years
Au masterlist
I think it would be REALLY funny if he never properly meets mitsuki and instead just sees Oro’s snakes around the village sometimes and just gets flashbacks for a second
Sometimes a family is you, your brother, your 99 clone sons, and the guy you reanimated from the dead to marry
Thank you @sleeplesslark for putting this idea in my head
Family Reunion
LONG RANT AHEAD.
The thing about the boruto and naruto series that sets the bar high for me in watching anime is how animators put subtle details in certain episodes.
For instance, this is Naruto Shippuden episode 338 (Izanami & Izanagi) which includes Kabuto, Itachi, and the two dojutsus' backstories.
Right after the cliffhanger of Itachi vs Kabuto, the episode cuts to two random ninjas in the battlefield where one guy gives first aid to the other. First aid guy says he just wants the war to be over so his little brother can come home after a long mission. The other one says he envies first aid guy because he has a place to return to. First aid guy says "wanna come with me? I live in an orphanage" and the first aid guys is confurmed to be Urushi, the boy who found Kabuto during the war and gave him the helmet (which became his name, kabuto in jp) to prevent further injuries in the head.
It really melted my heart because the cliffhanger of the fight cuts the scene to Kabuto's foster brother, his last anchor to his life before danzo went to the orphanage and bitched, the one who has faith and still believes that he is just in a long mission and not committing war crimes together with orochimommy that he is alive and will come home to them, the orphanage, his family.
Now this is a screencap from the end of sarada arc in boruto
See what I mean? Although personally i like the idea of kabuto getting executed for war crimes but hey, danzo was given house arrest, orochimaru is still has his laboratories, and the elders are still alive. Kudos to itachi for mindfucking Kabuto to be nice once again.
And the most important thing—he came home to Urushi, his brother. They became the caretakers of the orphanage, therefore continuing Nono's legacy.
When i finished watching shippuden and boruto i was so scared to watch other shonen animes lol wtf was that normal?
More examples are Mitsuki's cat Mikazuki, the filler episodes of boruto background characters, the development of relationships, and how they gave detail to itachi and sasuke's flashback scene in the parent and child day arc.
In naruto, the art style is bolder. But in boruto, itachi looked like an actual 13 year old. He still has his iconic face lines but he looks like an actual stressed out 13 year old. Also, his voice was softer hihi.
As well as that flashback of fugaku and sasuke. God, i wish they also had mikoto in sasuke's flashback scenes. That nandomo guys was popped out of his mother's vagina and they never gave a damn to mother mikoto.
Anyways this is a silly post why tf am i even ranting about this.

DAY 5 - KABUTO & CAST
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KABUTO!!
I'm so happy to have participated in kabutoweek fr, I love all my fellow Kabuto lovers on Tumblr <3
Thank you for all the reposts and supportive comments, now let's celebrate the one in four years birthday of our favourite snake boy
Do you ever think about the huge, HUUGGEEE divide between Kabuto and his brother, Urushi? Not just in the physical sense but also in like, the metaphorical/experience sense, or is it just me?
Assuming Urushi is actually normal, which let's be honest, he's probably on the same level as Sakura's "normalcy", what the FUCK can Kabuto talk to Urushi about that doesn't feel like he's hiding something all the time??
Can't really talk about your fucky little Frankenstein experiments, your complicated relationship with your weird, snake pseudo mom after you killed the one you both share, and how do you tell your brother about your snake stomach? SNAKE. STOMACH. It has EYES and THOUGHTS and a NAME, Urushi. A name.
I just feel like they could only talk about the orphans they take care of for so long before someone starts eating the other...
It;s late and I;m very tired so this is all over the place lol! What are your thoughts or headcanons about whatever's going on with Kabuto's strange, silly life?
HOW DARE YOU REMIND ME OF URUSHI..... ow.
Something something one of them being able to achieve a normal life. Something something one of them being able to move past it. Something something the other being stuck there.
I don't know if they'd ever really be able to reconnect. Their life experiences are sooo different, so directly opposed. Urushi couldn't be blamed for finding him repulsive, who he's become, and even if he found it in him to find it worth it to reconnect, like you said... what is there to connect over?
