#Repost @melissadtoler (@get_repost) ・・・ Out of all the sessions I️ went to last weekend at the #BEDA conference, the one from @benourishedpdx was among the most informative and thought-provoking. —�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�— Their presentation on healthism and how it overshadows healing in eating disorders made me think about how much we prioritize and celebrate a very narrow definition of health. —�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—� Our culture demands that we use this narrow definition to determine our worth as human beings. “Health” is just another way we police bodies. 👎🏾 —�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—�—� We have to question the ways we’re taught to categorize, judge and ultimately discard people based on their bodies. #bodytrust #weightstigma #fatacceptance #bodyacceptance #losehatenotweight #effyourbeautystandards #imworthy #urworthy #fatpositive
