I thought this the first time I watched the last season of The US Office but I actually really like the sort of angsty Pam and Jim storyline because 1) it ends happily 2) it actually makes a lot of sense and doesn’t retcon anything or have characters make dumb decisions like cheat on the partner they adore; it was established early on and alluded to throughout the show that Jim didn’t actually want to work at that office, the only thing that kept him there was Pam and then later on her, the kids and their home. So I thought it was clever of the show to make their last hurdle in the show him finally deciding to make that change to a different job and how that impacts everything. And 3) I love that there is no clear bad person/ person in the wrong in this storyline, like I completely get Jim’s perspective and also completely get Pam’s, and it’s also such a normal person storyline to put into the show because it’s not all that dramatic, it just feels that way because the show has already made us love them as separate characters and as a couple on the show.
